A Note from the Pastor

This weekend I began reading the book Seven Men
by Eric Mextasas. In this book, Mextasas offered
seven mini-biographies of men who used their lives
to make a difference. One of the men that
Mextasas spoke of was William Wilberforce.
Wilberforce dedicated his life to the seemingly
impossible task of ending slavery in the British
Empire. John Wesley wrote the following to
Wilberforce:
Unless God has raised you up for this very thing,
you will be worn out by the opposition of men and
devils. But if God be for you, who can be against
you? Are all of them stronger than God? O be not
weary of well-doing! Go on, in the name of God
and in the power of His might, till even American
slavery (the vilest that ever saw the sun) shall
vanish away before it.

Wilberforce was eventually successful in his efforts,

making it clear that God had indeed raised him up
for that purpose. Like Wilberforce, each of us have
been raised up for a specific purpose and mission.
I must ask?: What is your mission in life? What is
keeping you from accomplishing that mission?
Time is running out. We are closer to Christs
appearing than we have ever been before. Today
is the day to begin being the missionary that God
created you to be. Let us commit that from here
on out we will submit to Gods will for our lives and
our church, and we will not grow weary in well
doing.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday! Have a
blessed week.
