talks from September 28 to October 2. The Martial Law Initiative will
happen at Monday, September 28, and the speaker will be Mr. Ed
Garcia, whom to be awarded at the Academic Convocation.
e. Accdg. to briefer, Mr. Garcias been around for a long time. Hes so
influential, that Dr. Guevarra is moved by him. The good thing about him
was that he was there during the time of Martial Law. His stance on
student leadership was are developed from those founding principles.
f. Sanggunian Involvement
i. When: Monday, Sept. 28, 4:30-6:00 PM
ii. Where: Escaler Hall
iii. We want to be a major stakeholder here, but we also recognize
that this is an initiative of the ADSF. We are invited to present this
to the student body. But I also want ADSF to be included in the
branding, for them to see this as a good first step for an
introduction to the ADSF.
iv. Program flow:
1. Opening remarks by Luigi del Rosario
2. Introduction of speaker by Dr. Tolosa
3. Talk by Mr. Garcia (1 hour)
4. Small salu-salo afterwards
v. Im not seeking approval, rather, what Im trying to forward to the
Sanggunian is a pro-active involvement from you. We now have to
branch this out to a micro level.
vi. DPR heads the Creative, with COA Secretary-Generals help.
vii. Expetations from Sanggu
1. Attendance. We need a delegation for this talk.

help.

a. Go: Only Saje and I will go. Hopefully it could extend that more
Sanggunian people to come. The summit will require us to talk in an
online platform. If possible, can we ask DPR to release promotions
inviting students to join the conversation. We need students to converse
via Twitter.
b. Added value for Sanggu? Representation. They will expect statements
from Ateneo people, as student leaders
c. Details
i. Saturday, Sept 26
ii. Resorts World Manila
d. Saje and Kristoni decided to bring two new DEA applicants to the event,
those whom Saje saw potential. We need people in the cloud (to be
present online) to participate in the discussions, more particularly the
student leaders since they are the ones knowledgeable.
e. Let's avoid over-efforts. With or without DPR, you're still going. One or
two CB meetings after this, gather your thoughts. Have a short
presentation, describing your learnings, etc.
f. For transportation: carpool, then reimbursement
3) Integration of OBA
a. Go: According to Saje, it's more like an open discussion for all us. What
is the direction for us?
b. Direction for Sanggunian:
i. From SOSA: Reinternalizing; recognizing this year being a
transition year without falling short of the representative
functions.
1. Officers are still performing duties in their own committees
(e.g.: school forums).
ii. We will not think outside the box yet, recognizing that we are a
crippled institution.
iii. It may be counter-active if we do too much efforts, while
strengthening from the inside.
c. Del Rosario: However, as a Buklod Delegate, I think OBA must be
headed now. As I noticed from past Buklods, after crafting a MissionVision, as we approach the Mid-Year Summit what now? What should we
be doing? Any specific initiatives?
d. The resolutions referred to:
i. Resolution to Call for Open Applications for the Positions of
Buklod Atenista Ambassador and Buklod Atenista Trainees
ii. Resolution to Commission the Incumbent Buklod Atenista
Ambassador and the Department of External Affairs in Training
the Succeeding Ambassador and Trainees
e. Ideas for training in relation to the upcoming Buklod this October:
i. COA: Etiquette in external relations
ii. Luigi: Professional networking
f. DEA's role in the Buklod Atenista Congress:
i. Del Rosario: Back then, the ones who decides the delegacy was
the President and the Buklod Ambassador. CJ and Luigi evaluated
as to what will be the Sanggunian initiatives for this year.
Specifically:
1. Ateneo Task Force (external efforts) Mawe Duque was
then asked to come

2. Efforts with organizations Yesu Hernandez was also

asked to come
3. DEA was also asked to come as it is an external effort
Del Rosario: To formally decide as to who is going, evaluate first as to
what will be the direction of the Sanggunian. And then, maybe those
agendas can be brought to the Buklod proper. The Buklod Atenista
Congress is an open invitation to the schools. There is an allotted certain
number of slots per school. The school will be the ones deciding as to
who will be the delegates, and how they will be subsidized. (e.g.: ADZU
had many delegates as the costs are out of their own pockets.) We have
to exercise prudence in selecting our delegation because all of their
projected expenses are covered by SAF. The applications have always
been open to all, its just that the President and the Buklod Ambassador
chooses the ones to whom the SAF will be spent to.
Del Rosario: Collate all your formal concerns. So we can see what are
the issues. And then we can decide if we bring these up to Buklod, or if
we can solve these internally. At least we are not getting ideas out of
nowhere. What can we do, issues that we are facing, etc.?
CJ Leong is already transitioning the next Buklod Ambassador
i. Meetings held Wednesday, 11:30 AM
ii. Inviting DEA as part of the discussion
OBA delegation has to be discussed soon pre-elections. If we wait for the
election results, it may be too late to discuss Buklod again. One or two
CB meetings from now.
Venue of Buklod Atenista: Cagayan De Oro

4) Budget Freeze
a. Bonifacio: : I need to know the status of the budget freeze as I cannot
schedule the financial orientation for the SSS applicants. I can have the
orientation, but then I dont want to have with this current status of the
budget
b. Del Rosario: Understandable, as new financial mechanisms may
suddenly be introduced
c. Bonifacio: without them being oriented about it.
5) Student Leaders Symposium
a. Details
i. 10:30 AM, Friday, 17 September
ii. OSA will provide the PPT presented during the symposium
iii. Attendees:
1. Ele Gealogo, DIA Chairperson
2. Yesu Hernandez, COA President
3. Luigi Del Rosario, Sanggunian Coordinator
b. What: one way for them to be able to properly delegate tasks so as to
avoid the bottleneck of collaborations/correlation effort
c. Why: OSA is conducting ICs with orgs, knowing their current problems.
But then these orgs will have another IC with another organization (e.g.:
Sanggunian). Later on, it will be realized that the problem of one org is
already solved by another org, and the problem of the other org has
been solved by another org. If both parties have already discussed prior,
we could have avoided the time lapse that we wasted just figuring out
what we could do

d. SLS was created as a way for the student leaders, the Admin included,
to get together not just to talk about the problems, but to really
collaborate on a greater scale
e. The next SLS will be at October. This is a huge concern for the
Sanggunian since the new tuition scheme will be discussed with Dr.
Vergara. Impending deadline on having a representative for Agenda
Approval is on Monday, September 28. There is a process being followed
for setting the agenda
f. Del Rosario: I want to be that representative. However, that is
dependent as to if I am no longer the Sanggunian Coordinator.
Hernandez: Can we wait after the elections?
Bonifacio: The deadline is on the 28th.
Del Rosario: For the meantime, I will be the representative. If anyone
wants it, take it. We just need to brief the person if ever.
g. FAQ's from the previous meeting:
i. Included in the SLS is the Sanggunian, COA, and CoP. Should
Luigi, Yesu, or Regine Cabato for CoP be there? Not necessarily,
according to Mr. Castillo.
ii. If it just so happens to be them, might as well.
iii. It is also a challenge for the respective units to exercise prudence.
Discernment in action. Can we trust this representative with the
wisdom, etc., to be able to properly set the agenda for the entire
SLS.
6) CTPAS Committee on Traffic and Parking Administration for Students
a. Del Rosario: One volunteer we have is Miguel Hamoy. Sir Cholo was a
bit apprehensive because he is not part of the Sanggunian. But Id
rather have someone willing to do it. Koko Quilatan will be the
Sanggunian representative.
7) Academic Convocation
a. It has been a tradition for the past few years to have a student
delegation in the academic convocation. It is also a sign for the student
leaders to be there. It is very inspirational seeing people that we look up
to being awarded. The deadliest deadline for the sign-ups is on Friday,
September 18. Classes are called off from 1:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Venue is
at Henry Lee Irwin Theater. Attire is smart-casual, semi-formal
8) Courtesy Call with Dr. Guevarra
a. Happening at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, September 23. It is a kamustahan
session, not a grievance event. (e.g.: How is the Sanggunian doing,
recap on SOSA, status of the Committees and the Departments, etc.)
And then, they will offer help, since they specifically said What can we
do? Then they can offer help. Informal sign-ups are at the T52 Facebook
group
9) School Forum
a. To be held at 4:30 PM on Wednesday, September 23 instead of Friday,
September 25 due to the holiday.
b. Representatives:
i. Koko Quilatan
ii. Yesu Hernandez
iii. Luigi Del Rosario (cannot attend)
