STEPS IN THIS TASK INCLUDE:

Exploring prior experience
Leveraging Goldfire, users research across semantically indexed knowledge
bases of internal and external knowledge to quickly find answers to why a
product failure is occurring.
Performing a high-level causal analysis
Using Goldfires Root Cause Analysis tool, users identify the root cause of
the failure of a product or process building a cause-effect model, within
Goldfire, to identify the core problems that caused the failure.
Once core problems are identified, Goldfires Solution Manager
automatically generates problem statements and queries across knowledge
bases to identify possible solutions to the core problem(s). Optionally, users
can then build a functional model of their system, within Goldfire, in order
to further analyze a product or process. Function models help engineers
and scientists to analyze the design of products or processes, in terms of
their functions, and identify areas for improvement.
Performing a deep causal analysis
In this step, users leverage the problem statements created in the initial
high-level causal analysis as a starting point for deeper analysis.
