mostlydesignedtotakeadvantageofthegoodrangeofGunsweapons,and
theabilitytomakeshotsfromstealthusingtheironsights.
Comprehensionistakenlate,asthisbuildmaynothaveLockpick,
Science,andSpeechupto80beforelevel14,andcertainlynotbylevel
6,whenitbecomessensibletopickit.Theperkpicksfromlevel20on
arefairlyoptional,astheyjustmakethecharacterbetteraresneaking
andshooting..althoughyoucaneasilysacrificethisspecializationand
pickupplentyofEnergyWeaponsperksifyousochoosetomakea
combinedarmsbuild.YoucouldalsograbsomeDemolitionExpertperksand
spendyourskillsinexposivesinstead,orevenfocusonUnarmedand
getaslewofperkstomakeyouquitedeadlyinrangedandmeleecombat.

CityrunfromFallout3..exceptthistimearoundwecanscoreourbonus
Intelligencebeforewehitleveltwo.We'lldoourbesttodoso,at
least,andsincethisisafairlyimportantpartoftheguide,I'llhelp
yougetthereasbestasIcan.ForHardcoreplayers,youmayaswell
postponethisjourneyandtrytoreachtheNewVegasareabyquesting
yourwaythere.
Saveyourgamebeforeyouheadoff.Youneverknowwhatmighthappen,
soplayitsafeandkeepasaveofyourcharacterbeforeyougo
runningoutintotheMohave.
1)Firststep,followtheroadsoutheastoutofGoodspringsuntilyou
findJeanSkyDiving.FromhereheadeastalongI15untilyoufind
somerailroadtracks.YoumaywanttogetoffI15soonertoavoidany
hostilePowderGangersyousee.TheBloatfliesinthedesertwillmostly
leaveyoualoneunlessyougettooclose.
2a)Getontherailroadtracksandfollowitsouthagooddistanceuntil
youreachtheEmergencyServiceRailyard.Fromhereyouhavetwo
options.IfyougonortheastupthehillsyoucanfindPrimmPass.

ThisareaisoftenguardedbyaBlindDeathclaw,andifitcatchesyou,
youmayaswellreload.Ifnot,continueeastuntilyoufindsomeroads
headingnorthsouth,andfollowthemnorth.
2b)IfyouareconstantlyfindingDeathclawsinthepassandthegame
won'tletitdrop,you'llhavetoresorttothelongroute.Followthe
railroadsouthpastNiptonuntilitconnectswitharoadrunning
eastwest.Don'tfollowalongtheroad,asthereareViperGangersset
upinambush,insteadheadthroughthehillstothenorthoftheroad.
Thiswillletyoubypasstheenemies.Onceyoureachtheroadcontinue
eastuntilyoufindaroadsignthatdirectsyoutoturnnorthtofind
Novac.Younowwanttocontinuenorthuptheseroadsfortheforseeable
future.
3)YouSHOULDfindamerchantcaravanheadingnorthhere.They'llbe
attackedbyCaesar'sLegionRecruits.Staynearbybutdon'tget
involvedinthefight.Oncethefightisover,lootthebodies.It
doesn'tmatterwhowins,andnoneofthisgearisgoingtobeall
thatuseful,butitwillsellforenoughtoearnyouahandfulof
Capswithwhichyoucangambleyourselfasmallfortunelater.If
youwanttoplayitsafe,youcanfollowthecaravanuptoNovac,
lettingthemhandlewhateverbaddiesyoumayfind.
4)Eitherway,followtheroadwiththerailroadtracksrunningnext
toittofindNovac.NorthofhereyoucanalsofindtheHELIOSOne
powerplant.CrossthedeserttotheeastoftheHELIOSOneplant
andavoidanyFireAntsyoufinduntilyoufindanotherroadrunning
northsouth.
5)You'llfindyourselfonI95,whichwillrunnorthandconnectto
I93atasitewiselycalledthe188TradingPost.Ourjourneyis,
surprisingly,mostlyover.Continuepastthe188TradingPostand
followI95west,thennorthintotheoutskirtsofNewVegas.When
you'regettingcloseyou'llpassunderafewunderpassesandstart
seeingbillboardsignspromotingthecasinosonthestrip.
6)Onceyoustartfindnumerousstandingbuildings..well,you've
foundtheoutskirtsofNewVegas.Visualconfirmationcanbeobtained
bycheckingtothewesttolocatethelightsofNewVegasinthe
notsodistantdistance.TheNewVegasMedicalClinicisbetweenthe
CrimsonCaravanCompanytothewest,andtheMoleRatRanchtothe
east.Imanagedtoreachthisareawithatotalof60experience.
Nowthatyou'rehereyoujustneed..oh..4,000Capstogetyourself
ashineynewImplant.Therearetwofeasiblewaysofdoingthis.
Scavenging..Imean,'prospecting'andsellinganyandalllootyou
find.Thisrouteseemsthemostsensible,butsinceyouwillmost
likelyhavetodiscovernewareasand/orkillthings,itmightbe
somewhatcounterproductive.Thesecondwayistoheadwestto
Freeside'sEastGate.EnterFreesideandfindtheAtomicWrangler.
Ifyouareattackedbythugs,justrunbacktotheentranceof

FreesideandlettheBodyguardsforHirekillthem.AttheAtomic
Wrangler,saveyourgameandplaysomeslots,blackjack,orroulette
togetmoney..whatelse?Ifyouwin,save,ifyoulose,reload.Is
