Information Search
Reports
are due by Friday,
March 26, by 4pm.
Information Search Report
 A short annotated search report with at least 10 examples from a range of

primary, secondary and tertiary sources.

 Remember to present the bibliographic reference – then 2-3 sentences as to

why or how the source could be used in a debate, discussion or essay on the topic

of a current political, social or cultural concern with regards to E-waste.

 Be attentive to cultural and geographical specificity, arrow your topic

focus to a well defined and briefly detailed issue (such as the environmental

impact of switching to Digital TVs, the social cost of the materials mined for use in

mobile phones, or the environmental impact of international E-Waste dumps).

 Be original and creative in your sources and your research.


Assessment Criteria
Substance:
1. Is the research substantial? Has the research gone beyond simple search
engine results to include a variety of sources?
2 . Does the post meet all the requirements of the task, including containing a
range of sources?
3. Is the post thoroughly edited and meets the standards required for
referencing?

4. Does the annotation simply report on the content, or does it consider the

material within the research content with notes on its relevance and

applicability.
Presentation

1. Is the information is presented in an


organised and coherent manner?.

2. Does the report present information


effectively, are the annotations integrated
into the overall presentation.

3. Is the report consistent, with minimal


errors and typographical inconsistencies.
