Design of sewage treatment plant using SBR technology

Sequencing batch reactor (SBR) technology has been recently

developed. SBR are variations of the activated sludge process that operates on a fill-and-draw basis. It
combines both aerobicanaerobic phases in one unit and saves up to 25% of the aeration costs concomitant
with low sludge production. Consequently, simultaneous nitrogen and phosphorus removal from the
wastewater could be achieved by adjusting the actual operating cycle.
Description :

Also SBR processes are comparatively easy to operate and cost efficient and this process saves more than
60% of the expenses when compared to conventional activated sludge process. After the treatment output
water needed to be used for a right from irrigation purpose, landscaping and toilet flushing.
