Content Analysis : The students themselves find out the content of the story
provided to them.
Objectives : Students will be able to predict possible missing words from a short
story by using context clues.
Pre- requisites :
The students
Teaching Learning Aids : Story book, Copies of the story covered with suitable
words.
Assessment
Phase III
Depending on the experience level and
reading level of the students the teacher
tries to show some pictures related to
the hidden words.
Phase IV
After students decoding all of the
covered words, the teacher shows them
the proper answers and she predicts the
real winners.
Closure of the Lesson
The teacher asks the class certain
questions:
1. Do you have to read every single
word in order to understand the
story?
2. Does the use of synonyms make
the story change?
3. How do you predict words?
Evaluation of the Lesson
Each and every student in the class
came out with their answers. They gave
or predict logical words. Some also
predicted words which were not
appropriate. When graphophonic clues
were given (beginning letter, etc)
students were able to use them to
figure out the actual word.
