The teacher shows the picture of The Village

And asks certain questions like:

Model recitation by the teacher:
Teacher recites the poem with proper
pronunciation, stress, intonation and in
meaningful units. The theme and necessary
details are also forwarded to the students.

Recitation by the pupil:


Students are asked to recite the poem loudly and
they are asked to mark the difficult words.

Glossary Reference:
Students are asked to refer the glossary to
find the meaning of difficult words. The difficult
words are:

Collaborative learning
Students are asked to form the groups and
share their ideas in groups. They are asked to
write the word in the personnel word list.

Mega phoning the doubts


Each group s given the opportunity to raise
their doubts to other group.

Facilitation by the teacher


Teacher helps to clarify the doubts which
no groups could effectively tackle. Teacher also
explains the difficult areas.

Scaffolding questions

In order to make the content clearer


scaffolding questions asked to the students. They
are asked to write down the answer for:
What words does the poet use to show the
strength of the blacksmith?
Mighty, large and sinewy, brawny arms,
iron bands.

Presentation by the pupil


Randomly students are selected from
each group and they are asked to present the
answers for the scaffolding questions.

Appreciation of the poem


After giving the explanation of simile
teacher asks the students to identify the similes
used n the poem.

Language activity

Students are asked to form groups and to


create a poem on any work of their choice.
