Our story begins in Greece. There was a time in which Greece was wellknown for the spiritof
its great Masters and for the civilization and democracy that it spread to the western world.
Today the western worldisgoingthroughacrisis.Peoplehaveforgottentheirspiritualrootsand
have developed a materialisticidentity.Thishasresultedingreedandeconomiccrisistocertain
countries of southern europe. Greece is one of those countries. Greeks have forgotten about
their past and the values of righteous living. Swami says that it should be GreeceGrace, not
Greecegreed. By saying this, Bhagavan reminds us of our real identity. Unfortunately, greed
around the world has created various wars, such as thatoftheMiddleEast.
Greeceis themain
gateway to Europe for millionsofrefugees.Theyarrivehereeverydayintheirattempttoescape
from war and poverty. Hoping for a better future, they are forced to walk for thousands of
kilometers, board small rafts and cross dangerous seas. Many women and children die on this
harshjourney.
InGreece,theyarekeptintemporarycamps,servedbyonlyafewvolunteers.
Three young Sai devotees, inresponsetotheseendlessneedsarejustfinishingtheirNarayana
Sevaattherefugeecampandarediscussingthesituation.

D1:Thesituationhasbecomeverydifficult.
D2:Overfivethousandrefugeesarriveeveryday.Howarewesupposedtodealwiththis?
D3: Our country doesnt have the infrastructure to cope with such large numbers even the
volunteerscanttakeitanymore.

D2:Anddontforgetthatourcountryalreadyhasmanyotherproblems.
D1: Thats true. Thiseconomicalcrisishasaffectedus all.IwishIcouldoffermoretohelpthese
people.
D3: As a student I feelthatIcannotofferanysubstantialhelp.Mystudiesconsumealmostallof
mytime.

D2: But brother, I feel that our problem is not just the lack of time or money. As Swami says,
therearenoeconomicalproblems,onlyspiritualproblems.Theremustbequalityandloveinour
actions,notjustquantityandego.

D3:IwonderhowIcanputthesewordsintopractice...

D1: Indeed, we have just served food to therefugees,butisthatenough?Couldwehave given

themsomethingmorethanjustaplateoffood?

D2: Have we perhaps been treatingthesymptomsoftheprobleminsteadoftreatingthecause?

Whatistherealcauseofwar,economicalproblemsandthisrefugeecrisis?

D3: People have forgotten the ideals of life.Theyliveonlyforthemselvesandcareverylittlefor

others.Theyhavebecomeverygreedy.

D2: As Swami says,societywillchangewhenpeoplechangethemselves.Throughspiritualityin

education,theyshouldlearnhowtoshareandseeGodineveryone,insteadofbeinggreedy.

D1: Thats how it was 2500 years ago in the Golden Age of Ancient Greece. In those times,
thereweremanyGuruswhoguidedthepeopleandnoneoftheseproblemsexisted.

D3:ButunfortunatelytheGoldenAgeofGreecedidntlastlongandDharmasoondeclined.

D1: However brother, dont forget that even in the darkerawhichwas500yearsafterGreeces

goldenage,aGreatGuruincarnatedandturnedthewheelofDharmaagain.

D3:WhichGurudoyoumean?


D1: Apollonios Tyaneas of course. He was a great guru who travelled to the distant land of
India and became a disciple of the great Rishis in the Himalayas. He brought back the Lightof
Wisdom from theEastandspreadit acrossthewesternworld.HewasthelastgreatGuruofthe
ancient Greek tradition.
After him, several Greek Christian saints lived and taught

spiritualityintheirownway.

D2: How blessed would our country be to have such a great Guru again. As Swami says, we
mustliveuptoourcountry'sspiritualtradition.

D1: Indeed! Brothers, how about going for a walk in the ancient agora the sacred place in
whichallthesegreatGurususedtohavesatsangsandteach.

The Sai devotees are walking around inside the ancient Agora, just under the
Acropolis. 2500 years ago, the ancientagorawhichwassimilartooldKashi,nowadaysknown
as Varanasi was the place where young people met with their gurus, like Socrates,
Pythagoras, Plato, Aristotle and many others to seek guidance and have spiritual debates. It
was a placeforSatsang,from whichtheentirewesterncivilizationwasinfluenced.Itwasoncea
lively place but today it is an archaeological place where you can find the remains of old
temples,statuesandlibraries.

D2:Finallyasilentplace!Thevibrationsherearesopeaceful!

A: My dear children, I understand your concerns. But its not your mission to save
everyone. That is Bhagawans work. He knows everything. And has the way and the
right time for everything. Whatis being asked of you isto become beacons oflightand
be useful instruments in His hands. By doing this, others willfollowyourexample and
spreadthe light everywhere. The lighthouses arefewbuttheyguideandshowtheway
in thevast ocean. Likewise inthe oceanof Samsara,thebeacons oflightmightbefew
buttheyshowusthewaytoavoidobstacles.

D3:Guruji,howcanwebecomebeaconsoflightinoursociety?

: My children,until noweach one of you waslost inhispersonaldrama.Youhaveall

been falsely identifying yourselves with a particular name, body, character, job, family
and other labels. These roles that you are playing do not exist in reality. Know
yourselves!You are theAtma!
I wentto myGuruinIndiaonlyonce.Istayedtherefor4

months and therewas noneed togoagain, becauseIrealizedthatIamnotthebody,I

am notthemind,Iam Atma.MyMasterlivespermanentlyinmyheart.
You,ontheother

hand, come and go to India many times without substantially transforming your lives.
This is because your heart is still influenced by the world. Thats why you fail to fully
practice Swamis teachings. Bhagawans teachings are meant to be practiced. Only
then will there be results individually, as a team, and even as a country. You must
emptyyourheartsfromtheworldcompletelyinordertofillthemwithGod.Onlythenwill
you understand the work of Swami. The wayyou must live isindeedvery simple.As I
did myself. WhenI wasyoung Iused toprayto have little and wantnothing.As Swami
says:MindintheForesthandsinthesociety.

D2:Master,canyoupleasetalktousmoreaboutthis?

A: Swami establishes ashramsallaround theworld. Theashram isthe foundationand

the means ofspiritualdevelopment.Mind in the forest means thatthe mindis peaceful
and focused constantly on God as in the ashram. This is why Swami establishes
ashrams in areas of abundant nature, yet close to the city to remind us: Mind in the

Forest and Hands in the society. The transformation of the EaststartedfromIndia

from Swamis Ashram. Similarly your transformation begins by abiding in the core of
yourinnerSelf.WhatisanAshram?Itisaheartfreeofworldlydesires.

D3:Guruji,whatdoeshandsinsocietymean?

A:. After establishingashrams,Swamimovedon toeducation andmedicalhealthcare.

AsPlatousedtosay,througheducationthefoundationsof societychange.Theyouthof
today who receive the education of Sai are the leaders of tomorrow. In Sai hospitals,
souls afflicted by their karma findrelief and love. At Saishospitals,theyarecuredand
they continueontheirpath, having attained spiritual insightsand beinggratefultoGod.
That iswhat Hands insociety means: thetransformation of societythrougheducation,
healthcare, action and seva. If you want to transform your country, you must first
transformyourselves accordingtothelevelyouareat.Dontexpecthelpfromoutsideof
you. Your country is not outsideof you. Your countrylivesinsideofyou. Youareyour
country.Takeyourresponsibilitiesandfollowyourdharma!

D3: Thank you Guruji. Now it isclearthat wemust transformourselves dynamically in

ordertohelpourcountry.

APOLLONIOS: My dear children, I walked thousands of kilometers under very difficult

circumstances, to meet a Guru and be guided by him towards the Self towards the truth. I
brought knowledge and realization from East to West. As a team, youarebeingcalledupon to
firmly establish the East in the west. You are luckier than me because, inthiseratheMasterof
MastershasincarnatedGodhimselfBhagawanSriSathyaSaiBaba.
All this is His Sankalpa. You have the ideal circumstances for selfrealization, as well as for
spreading the light throughout the society. Many students of Bhagawan spenta longtimeinhis
physical presence. Now in His subtle body, He is giving you a Divine opportunity to bridge
yourselves with your inner Guru heart to heart. Follow your consciousness.
The time has
come: you havegraduatedfromjuniorschool.Thecircumstancesrequirehigherresponsibilities.

Now you are being called upon to see further than the eyes andthesenses,andtoprepare
for this inner relationship with Prema Sai Baba. Swamis Darshan will alsobegiventhrough
you as you perform your duties and your Dharma. Bhagavan says: when I was in my physical
body, your name would attain glory by saying that you are My devotees, because of My good
deeds. Now, it is My name that will attain glorythroughyouractionsalso. Doyourduty,withfull
intensity and devotion, and prepare for the work that is coming. You dont need me anymore I
will go back to the source that I came from. I will merge in the ocean of love, in Bhagawan Sri
SathyaSaiBaba.
