The world measures our value as a person by the way we look, the way we
speak,whatwehaveorwhatwecandoandnotbywhomweare.Becauseofthis,many
young people are confused and unhappyeven those who are already in YFC. It is
importantforustorealizeandacceptwhowereallyareifwewanttolivethelifeGod
wantsforus.

Just like we learned in our Youth Camp, Yes, I know the plans I have for you,
saystheLord,plansforyourwelfareandnotforwoe,planstogiveyouafuturefullof
hope.(Jer.29:11)Theworldsaysmanydifferentandconfusingthingsaboutus,asseen
inmedia,reportedinthenews

o Whenpeoplethinkwearesecondclassorlessofapersonbecauseofthecolor
ofourskinorthewaywelookoroureducationalattainment.
o When people expect us to act or live by a certain standard because of the
reputationofourparents.
o Whenpeoplesaythatwearesoftorgay,likeawomaninamansbody

Manypeoplegetintodrugs,partyallnight,everynight.Somebecomeobsessed
with being perfect or pleasing others. People try so hard to hide their imperfections,
pretend and put up an image to be accepted. Everyone seems to be trying to make
themselvesworthyofloveandattention.

B. OurGender
Gender issues cause much of the confusion and therefore unhappiness
amongmanyyoungpeopletoday.

1. Men
It is a mans nature to be protector, provider and pastor. God even
createdmentobephysicallybiggerandstrongerforthispurpose.

2. Women
Womenareprecious.Theyshouldbesoughtafterandcherished.Itis
hernaturetowanttobecaredforandpursued.

Womenarenaturallynurturingbecausetheyhavebeendesignedto
belifegivers.Theirsisaprivilegeofbringinglifetoanotherhumanbeing.

3. OtherIdentityIssues
Note:Whenstatingthispoint,doitinsuchawaythatwontbetoooffensive
to the audience. The speaker should refrain from name calling or making
jokesaboutthem.Ourgoalistoremindthemthattheyarespecial.

Thereisareasonwhywearethewayweare.Wearecreatedwithall
intentionandpurpose.Weareplannedandlovedintoexistence.Letusnot
wasteourwholelifetryingtobesomeoneorsomethingthatwearenotand
willneverbe,especiallywhenwhoandwhatweareisperfectlyokay.

No matter what we do, no matter how much we try to change our

voiceorthewaywewalk,evenourgender;wewillalwaysbeawoman.We
willalwaysbeaman.Ourgenitalsalonedontmakeuswhoweare.

Howsaditmustbetoliveourlifebelievingthatwearenotcreated
on purpose, that are are some accident. It must be so depressing to think
thatweareamistake,thatweshouldhavebeenawomaninsteadofaman
ortheotherwayaround.

Butwhenweunderstandthatwearecreatedforapurposeandthat
wearecreatedespeciallybyGodandnotasamistake,thenacceptingwho
wearewillnotjustbeeasy,itwillalsobelifegiving.

C. OurYouth/Age
Letusliveourlife.Ouryouthshouldbefunandenjoyed!Letusnotsacrifice
thistimetoinsecurityandpressures.LetusdiscoverourselvesandthegiftsGodhas
givenus.

Everything about us is changing. Growing up takes a lot of change in our

bodiesaswellasinthewaywethinkandfeel.Asyoungpeoplewehavetheidealism
andpassionthatcanreallyradicallychangeourworld.

III. FreedomtoBetheBestSon/DaughterofGod

WearelovedeternallybyaGodwhoneverchangesHismind.Wecanneverout
sinHismercy,neverfalltoofaroutofHisgrace.Atourworstself,wearedeeplyloved.

Whenwerealizethisandbelieveinitwithallconfidence,thenwearefree!This
unconditionallyacceptinglovemakesusfreetobethebest,tobeexcellent.

A. FreeToBetheBestSonorDaughter
Wearefreetobethebestsonordaughterwecanbe.Whetherwearean
onlychildorthefifthof8kids,whetherwearethefavoriteortheleastnoticedin
thefamily,wecanstillbethebestsonordaughter.

B. FreeToBetheBestStudent
Wemaybeatthetopofyourclassorjustaverage.Wemaybegreatinarts
or the worst in math. Whatever it is, we can be the best student can be without
beingguiltyorinsecure.Wehaveourowntalents.Letushaveconfidenceinthem
not because we are really good but because we are so sure of the God that gave
themtous.

C. FreeToBetheBestFriend
Wecanbethebestfriendthatwecanbebecausewedonthavetopretend
andputonanimageoramask.Weknowthatwecanloveandthatweareworth
lovingbecausetheGodofallcreationlovesus.

D. FreeToBeTheBestMeICanBe
We can be the best person honest, responsible. We watch out for other
people more than ourselves because we are confident that the all powerful God
watchesoverUS.WecanbethebestchildofGod
