Barnes and Noble Bookfair a Success!

Thank you to all families that supported our library at the Barnes and Noble Bookfair last Thursday! We truly
appreciate all that you do to make our school wonderful!

BUSD Curriculum & Instruction Parent Nights:

Come learn more about what happens in our classrooms! The evening begins in the theatre and followed by breakout session options in the classrooms. Topics include: Math Practice Standards and Shifts, Language Arts Shifts,
Smarter Balanced Assessment, Academic Vocabulary, Digital Technology, Collaborative Conversations, Literacy in
the Content Areas, ELD/ELLs and the CCSS and Math Placement and Pathways.

Fall Play Information: Students interested in participating in our

fall play, pick a packet up from Mr. Schneider in the drama room
Mon/Tues/Wed of this week. You need a packet in order to audition the
following week. All the information for the play is in the packet.

Collaborative Learning Time (CLT) Focus
Our teachers are working on the following professional
development activities for our Collaborative Learning Times
(CLTs) this quarter:
Department meetings to examine academic rigor, data
analysis, and performance-based assessments
Continue to implement the Common Core State
Standards with a focus on Common Formative
Assessments to guide instructional strategies, Depth
of Knowledge/Rigor, Literacy in the Content Areas,
Academic Vocabulary, Technology Integration, and
Math Alignment/Transition
Team meetings to analyze academic and behavioral
goals as well as cross curricular integration of lessons.
