15.3 Transfer of column axial forces

Provisions apply if fc,column 1.4fc,floor
Three options:
Place column concrete 2 ft into surrounding slab
Design column joint for lower strength concrete
For restrained joints, use concrete strength at joint =
0.75fc,column + 0.35fc,floor
Slab
Concrete strength ratio < 2.5

principal direction
must be greater of:

Transverse reinforcement in joints

Satisfy requirements for columns in special
moment frames
Exception where beams frame in on all four
sides and beam width column width
Reduce Atr per 18.7.5.4 by half
Increase spacing per 18.7.5.3 to 6 in.
Applicable over depth of shallowest beam
