This is a list of cheats in The Sims 4 that allow you to get money, prevent death, and
adjust your Skill and Career levels. Much more can be done with testingcheats and
cheats that were not officially released by Maxis. Here's everything you need to know
to cheat in The Sims 4. Look to the bottom of the list for expansion-specific
information (at the moment only Get to Work). We're also updated with more official
cheats from EA, including MoveObjects!
Open the Cheat Console by pressing Control + Shift + C. From there, you can type
commands. Press enter to activate the cheat, then press control + shift + c again

to close the cheat console. Some of these may require testingcheats on, so just

do that anyway. For many cheats, you must also usetestingcheats on or they
won't work!
Here's a quick list of the main cheats you need:

Type kaching or rosebud - Gives the family $1000 each time you type them.

Type Motherlode - Gives the family $50,000 each time you type it.

Sim Stuck? Type Resetsim Firstname Lastname - to reset a stuck Sim back
to the home lot and resume your game.

Type death.toggle true/false Use false to disable death. You will need to do
this every time you load your game. Without true/false it does not say death is
off/on, just that it's toggled.. It's safer to just use death.toggle false

hideheadlineeffects on/off toggle between showing headline effects over

Sims. This is good for taking screenshots or making movies.

freerealestate on/off - Makes homes free when typed while shopping for a
house - this can let you live in a mansion without needing to afford it. This is a
helpful cheat when you're Moving a Sim out of the house and want that Sim to
live in a better home.

households.autopay_bills - Annoying bills will trouble you no longer.

sims.remove_all_buffs will remove all moodlets from your Sim. Those from
high needs and environment will come back up, so you can effectively remove
negative moodlets with this one.

fps on/off - display frames per second. Good for tuning graphical settings for
optimal performance.

fullscreen - type this to toggle between fullscreen and windowed mode - you
can even adjust window size! Great for checking guides while you play.

bb.moveobjects - the Move Objects cheat returned in a Patch. Type this, then
use 9 and 0 to adjust the item being 'held'. With this, you have powerful
creative control over objects and can place them without constraint. It allows
for some super cool looks, so experiment with this one if you love
building/decorating!

bb.showhiddenobjects (Buydebug Cheat) - After typing this, look to the top

right of the list for 'Filter Objects'. You can see Content there. Under Content
will be Debug. Then, when going to a category, you will see only the Debug
objects. By doing this, you can build things like ponds on your lot, objects
created by skills, and other debug objects. An easy way to see everything
under build mode is to go to objects by function and select Show All on that
dropdown. To find Ponds for fishing holes, type fishing in the search box.

bb.enablefreebuild - Allows you to build on otherwise locked lots, such as the

new Active Careers' Science Lab, Police Station, and Hospital

bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement - to make that one more readable,

it's spelling ignore gameplay unlocks entitlement. This allows you to ignore the

restrictions placed on certain objects and the styled rooms that come with
career promotions.

sims.give_satisfaction_points x - to give you satisfaction to spend at

the Rewards Store. For example, if you wanted 30,000 points you would
type:sims.give_satisfaction_points 30000 - note the lack of a comma.
Requires testingcheats on to be enabled or it won't work.

Build Mode Cheats

We've got build mode cheats listed above, but you can learn a lot more about
using them by visiting the Building Cheats page.

Pregnancy and Multiple Birth Cheats

You can use relationship cheats to Try for Baby quickly, and follow up with a cheat
once the Sim is pregnant in order to force the Sim into labor. You can also cheat to
get twins, triplets, quadruplets, or more! Find this near the end of the Pregnancy
Guide.

Cheats to Make a Sim a Ghost

Head to the Ghosts guide for Cheats to turn a Sim into a ghost of any kind, based
on the death type. You can also skip Ambrosia or the Book of Life and make a Sim
who's died back into a normal Sim by removing this ghost trait once they've been
added back to your family.

TESTING CHEATS
Testing Cheats
To enable Testing Cheats, type testingcheats on. To disable them,
type testingcheats off. The console will say, "Cheats Enabled". If it does not, you
can try other options:testingcheats 1, testingcheats true, and testingcheats
yes all work to enable the cheats. You must do this every time you load an area
until a bug is fixed. Here are the things you can do with testingcheats - note that
this command is also necessary for the extra cheats further down.

Shift-Click the Mailbox to access the ability to stop need decay for your current
household or the entire neighborhood (effectively make everyone happy). Disable
Need Decay will make needs stop falling; re-enabling them is as simple as
selecting Enable Need Decay. Make Happy will then fill needs to the maximum. You
can do this on an individual Sim level by Shift-Clicking Your Sims. This will let
you select to make only that Sim's needs static or make them happy by filling all
needs. You are also able to completely redesign a Sim by shift-clicking them and

selecting Modify in CAS. This takes you to Create-A-Sim where you can make the
Sim look however you want, but not change their gender or traits.
To fully edit a Sim in Create-a-Sim, type cas.fulleditmode with Testing Cheats On.
This will let you change the gender, traits, everything, and is much more powerful
than the scaled down version you get without typing this cheat. Thanks Pokeh321

Shift-Clicking NPC Sims At the moment, this one seems to have disappeared.
When it's working, it will allow you to add them to your household or reset them if
they get stuck. You should also be able to enable/disable need decay and make
them happy if you so choose - good if your Sim's date has to leave due to being
tired! You can also Edit them in CAS if you like.

Shift-Clicking the Ground will allow you to Teleport anywhere you could walk in
the neighborhood. Shift-Clicking Objects allows you to reset them, should
something get stuck or broken.

Shift-Clicking Objects, for those that can get dirty, allows you to either make them
dirty or clean - all objectcs can be reset, as well.

Customize the size of Items - Enlarge or Shrink - This only works while in build
mode, as changing object size requires you to be able to fit it somewhere. Take the
object you want to change size of and Press Shift + ] to make it bigger. You can
shrink objects down to one tile by using Shift + [ or using Control + Z to undo your
changes. Press this too much and it will grow enormously. The controls for this
are a little wonky, so experimentation is recommended. I press control + ] then
move the object to see the change. This is necessary. Thankfully, if you go
overboard like in the picture above you can always undo it and shrink the object
down to a size you like.

SKILL, CAREER, AND ASPIRATION CHEATS

Powerful Hidden Cheats
With the permission of TwistedMexi, a Simmer who took the time to look into The
Sims 4's source code and find all the developer cheats, I am listing the cheats that
help with Sims 4's Skills, Careers, and other common things here. You can find a

full list of cheats TwistedMexi has discovered here. The Wiki is being updated with
newly discovered cheats, so you might find something that helps you a lot there.

Testingcheats on should be enabled, as some cheats will not work without it.
Skill/Career cheats affect the selected Sim.

Money X - Type Money 50000 or 1000000, whatever you like, and your family will
have that amount exactly. This can be used to subtract funds, because it sets the
money to whatever amount you specify.

Satisfaction/Aspiration Cheats Type aspirations.complete_current_milestone and you will get all the satisfaction
from completing that milestone and move on to the next, one stage closer to the
special trait you get for completing the aspiration. You can do this repeatedly until
you have every Reward trait and gobs of satisfaction. It's listed above but bears
repeating here: sims.give_satisfaction_points gives the selected Sim an amount
of satisfaction equal to what you enter. sims.give_satisfaction_points 50000 would
give you 50k.

Infinite Consumables - One-time use potions can be bought with satisfaction. You
may also milk Cow Plants that have killed Sims to get a potion that increases a
Sim's lifespan. You can make these consumables infinite by using
theobjects.consumables_infinite_toggle Cheat. This can allow you to always get
a particular emotion, or make a Sim immortal with aging still on.

Remove negative moodlets by typing Sims.remove_all_buffs. This will take away

positive as well, but you can get those back. The link to TwistedMexican's wiki has
a list of all buffs, which can be added/removed individually.

Careers Cheats - While already in the career you want (via normal hiring from the
phone or computer) and with testingcheats on, type Careers.promote X - for
example careers.promote astronaut would promote your Sim to the next level in
the Astronaut career. Any Careers that have multiple words should contain no
spaces, for example careers.promote secretagent.

careers.demote X also works, causing a Sim to go back a level. You cannot use
this to go back to the branch choice for a career - if you're at the first level of a
branch, you'll be fired using this. If you don't know which branch you want, check
out the linked Career guides to see the benefits and pay of each. The Careers
Guide also has a table tocompare careers.

To quickly get multiple promotions, copy the command below for the career you're
in - just the careers.promote x part - and paste it into the game's command line
with Control - V (Command-V on Mac). Paste it until you're level 10!

Skill Cheats - Type Stats.set_skill_level major_X with X being the level of skill
you'd like the selected Sim to be. Note the different syntax for fitness and
children's skills in the list below. If you cannot get skill cheats to
work try stats.set_skill_level adultmajor_x. You can find _ near the backspace
key on your keyboard.
With testingcheats on, type Stats.set_skill_level major_handiness 10 - make
handiness 10. Note the Major_ before the skill name. If you did this, you'd see the
level 10 popup. If you want to see what unlocks with each level, read the linked
guide or adjust it by 1 each time so that you can see information on each new
level. Here are all the skills in Sims 4, which you can cheat to max. Beside each,
there's a link to the associated Skill Guide so that you can learn how to use it!
To max all cheats quickly, copy stats.set_skill_level major_ and paste it into your
command console in-game. Finish the command with the skill, then the level. This
doesn't work for fitness so you need to copy that line. Remember Photography
caps at 5.

There's something cool about buying a cheap house, then earning every dollar you spend in
The Sims 4. It's rewarding for a while, but eventually you want that big mansion and swanky
swimming pool. That's where the game's many cheats come into play, allowing you to alter
just about all of the major concepts and nuisances you'll come across.

How to Use Cheats in The Sims 4

To bring up the cheat window, press Ctrl + Shift + C on your keyboard, then let it go. This
will bring up a dialog box in the top left corner, and that's where you input your cheats. After
typing in the cheat, press Enter to activate it. When you're done, press Ctrl + Shift + C again
to close the dialog box.

Turning Cheats On and Off in The Sims

4
Some cheats can be typed directly into the dialog box we described above, and others will
require an additional command. If you bring up the dialog box, then type one of the cheats
listed below, only to find that it's not working, try typing TestingCheats True, then pressing
Enter. When you're done using cheats, type TestingCheats False, then press Enter. You close
the dialog box the same way we described earlier, by using Ctrl + Shift + C.

All In-Game Cheats for The Sims 4

Kaching - This will give the current household $1,000. You can also type in rosebud,
a cheat that gives you the exact same results.

Motherlode - This will give your current household $50,000. Repeat it until you're a
millionaire, if that's your goal.

ResetSim Rumpo Gamer - Use this if your Sim gets stuck, replacing Rumpo with
your Sim's first name, and Gamer with their last name.

Death.Toggle True/False - This cheat will turn death on and off in your game. True is
for on and False is for off. You only use one at a time.

HideHeadlineEffects On/Off - This will turn off the bubbles above your Sim's heads,
which is ideal for taking screen captures.

FreeRealEstate On/Off - Turn this one on before you go house shopping if you want
to live far beyond your means. Or, you know... use the money cheat.

Households.AutoPay_Bills - Tired of paying $2,000 or more a week in bills? Use this

cheat to get rid of them once and for all.

Sims.Remove_All_Buffs - This will get rid of your Sim's Moodlets. It's an especially
effective cheat after a divorce, or breaking up with another Sim.

FPS On/Off - This cheat will display your frames per second while playing the game,
useful if you're experiencing performance problems.

Fullscreen - The Fullscreen cheat is fairly useless, since this can be adjusted in the
game's options, under the video settings section.

BB.MoveObjects - Use this cheat to take the restrictions off of placing objects, such
as when you try to position something close to your property line.

BB.ShowHiddenObjects - This cheat will allow you to see objects created through
your skill improvements, or even allow you to add ponds to your lot.

BB.EnableFreeBuild - This cheat allows you to build on lots such as the Police
Station, Science Lab, or Hospital that came with the Get to Work expansion.

BB.IgnoreGamePlayUnlocksEntitlement - This cheat will allow you to buy objects

that would normally require you to unlock them through your career progression.

Using the Testing Cheats Command

Press Ctrl + Shift + C, then type in TestingCheats True, pressing Enter after each one. Try
the following commands and actions to alter the game as you see fit. Some, such as Shift +
Left Click Mailbox involve interacting with the game world by clicking it. Others,
like CAS.FullEditMode need to be typed into the dialog box.

Shift + Left Click Mailbox - This will bring up a menu that allows you to change
some game play mechanics, like Disable Need Decay or Make Happy.

Shift + Left Click Sim - Doing this to a specific Sim will bring up a menu that allows
you to alter that character, such as the Modify in CAS option.

CAS.FullEditMode - Using this cheat with the Testing Cheats command will allow
you to fully edit a Sim, including their gender and personality traits.

Money 1000000 - This cheat allows you to give your household a specific amount of
money. Replace the number with whatever you want in your account.

Aspirations.Complete_Current_Milestone - This cheat will level up your Sim and

have theminstantly complete their current aspiration.

Careers.Promote SecretAgent - Use this cheat to get your Sim promoted to the next
level of their current career, replacing SecretAgent with your specific career.

Careers.Demote SecretAgent - Use this cheat to get yourself demoted, if that's your
thing. Replace SecretAgent with your specific career choice.

Stats.Set_Skill_Level AdultMajor_Logic 10 - This would instantly make your Logic

skill level 10. Replace Logic and 10 with your skill and level of choice.

Stats.Set_Skill_Level Skill_Fitness 10 - This would specifically raise your Fitness

skill to 10, as it does not play by the same rules as the other adult skills.

Stats.Set_Skill_Level Skill_Child_Motor 10 - This cheat raises the skills of children.

Again, you replace Motor with your desired skill, and the 10 with your desired level.

Keep in mind that you can't level up a skill that you don't have, so if you don't own the Get to
Work DLC, you can't level up the Baking skill. As well, the Fitness skill plays by different
rules, and has a cheat that is separate from the rest of the adult skills.
