Why This Farm!

For Violeta

A Note from the Author

You are about to read a book based on a true story! The
photo below shows the children and the farm in the story.
The farm was in the beautiful Valley of Amescoa, not far
from France, in the north of Spain.
I, (on the right in the photo), together with the help
of my sisters, (to the left), lead a chicken revolution.
We did not like our farm, we wanted to be just like our
neighbours, with yards that had things to eat and animals
to pat, so one balmy night in 1978, we left our beds and
followed our hearts...

Not so long ago, in the valley of

Amescoa, a place where hardly
anyone has a car, and nothing is
really far

there lived a family of two

parents and four girls.
