Triduum Ministry Sign Up
If you are interested in taking part in the ministries during the
Good Friday service and the Holy Thursday and Easter Vigil
Masses, please sign up in the atrium. The run-throughs for the
Masses will be in the Holy Spirit Chapel as follows:
Holy Thursday—Mon. Mar. 29, 7pm
Good Friday—Tues. Mar. 30, 7pm
Easter Vigil—Wed. Mar. 31,
lectors: 7pm, all others: 8pm

Communal Penance Service
On Tuesday, March 23, there will be a communal penance
service at St. Austin’s at 7pm. There will be an opportunity for
individual confession as well.
Marriage Prep
The UCC will be hosting a marriage prep workshop on April
16-17. Twenty couples have already signed up! If you are
interested, please contact Deacon John De La Garza at
john@utcatholic.org.
Save the Date: State of the UCC
Come and participate in an evening of looking back over the
year and looking into the future on Wednesday, April 28 from
7-9pm. Your participation is important in helping improve our
ministries in the future!
Special Mass at the Cathedral
Thursday, March 25, on the Feast of the Annunciation, there
will be a special Mass at the Cathedral for those preparing for
total consecration to Jesus through Mary. Rosary will begin at
6pm, and Mass will begin at 6:30pm. Some faithful from the
UCC will be completing the preparation prayers. All are
invited to come!

The 5th Sunday of Lent
Rules for Fasting and Abstinence During Lent
Generally, all Catholics 18—59 years of age are obliged to fast
on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. In addition, Catholics
aged 14 years and older must abstain from meat on Ash
Wednesday, Good Friday, and all Fridays during Lent.
Fasting, as explained by U.S. bishops, is only having one full
meal. Some food is permitted at the other usual meal times as
long as they do not equal another full meal. Abstinence forbids
the use of meat, but not eggs, milk products, seasonings and
condiments made from animal fat, or products made from meat
juices, such as gravies or broths.
Lenten Soup Suppers
Throughout the season of Lent, the UCC and St. Austin’s will
be hosting Friday night Soup Suppers at 5:30pm followed by
Stations of the Cross at 6:30pm each week. If you would like
to help here at the UCC on March 26, please contact Julie

Lenten Film Series
Join us this week for the Lenten Film Series in the library on
March 24 at 7:30pm! This week’s film will be Capitalism: A
Love Story.
Phonathon
The UCC’s annual Phonathon has officially begun! This year,
the Diocese will match all donations in order to help eliminate
the UCC’s debt, so please consider donating! If you are
interested in donating, but would not like to be called, please
visit http://www.utcatholic.org/support/phonathon/. Make sure
to mark that it is for Phonathon. Students, we are still in need
of volunteers to help out! If you want to help, but are
uncomfortable with calling, there are still other ways you can
