It is a common belief that the older generations haves owned abundantly valuable

conventional experiences, forcing the young generation to practice and preserve the
traditions. However, in the era of globalization and boom of modern technology, life has
changed dramatically. Thus, a growing number of people hold the view that the
traditional thoughts of elderly people are absolutely obsolete and useless for younger
generations to confront modern day challenges. From my perspective, I approve of this
viewpoint and I intend to clarify this in my essay.
First of all, it is argued that some traditional rituals and thoughts are no longer responding
to modern society values. Nowadays, with the rapid and ceaseless integration of
industrialization and modernization, the world has turned out to be more severe and
competitive than ever before. Hence, to adapt to new circumstances, tradition-oriented
life styles and behaviors which are favored by the old generation seems to be outdated
and bears little relevance to the present-day problems. Take the attitudes towards gender
roles as an example. Conventional rules nearly tied women in the kitchen and normally
depreciate their roles in the family. These days, contrary to this, women can make their
own choice to do what they want and achieve great success in life.
Equally important, the conservativeness and inertia of the old generation towards the
inherent things causes an enormous deterrence to the younger ones to comply with the
advices. Explicably, it is the human nature for our forefathers to be easily self-satisfied
with the current familiar situation, to be lack/dearth of taking risks which is considered as
a core to create a better life or enhanced career, and afraid to make a change. This stands
in opposition to the activeness and creativity of the youth and more seriously, obstructs
the community integration in the revolutionized world. Take the issue of consumption
as an example. Old people may usually grumble about the unique style that the
youth pursue. irrelevant
On the other hand, it is indisputable that traditional views are completely to be
denied.??? There are still some priceless values that should be inherited. Take
conventional festivals as an example. The A country would not be the same if there
was no festivals or national holidays to celebrate and be proud of???. Besides, the
experience and results taken from the past that older people/seniors haves selfexperienced areis valuable. The next generations can learn a great deal from the
miserable memory that forefathers haves left and to avoid making the blunt mistakes as
which their predecessors did. Moreover, in terms of morality, expressing the respects to
the foregoers advice is justified. This is experienced in the traditional countries with the
admiring diverse culture.
By way of conclusion, in this fast changing world, older peoples conventional ideas
about the way future young generations live areis not entirely appropriate/congruous.

However, in lieu of blindly obeying or denying the forefathers, respecting their advice
and flexibly and rationally apply theseh+is is the optimal choice.
