What is Bio Museum?

The Biomuseo was designed by Frank Gehry. He began to draw up the plans for the
Biomuseum in Panama in 2002 and in 2004 were finished. It was suppose to be open in
2006 but because of money problems and accurately it opened until 2014 with only 5
galleries completed. Gehry design the museum based on shapes and colors of nature
and people in Panama.
Introduction
Before we begin, we must know what is biodiversity. Biodiversity is all living beings
and biological systems that houses the ground.
Now let's talk about our experience in the galleries and what we learned from each
gallery.
Gallery of Biodiversity
In this gallery we could know and observe about species and biodiversity.
We also note some research by scientists.
What really caught my attention was that there are some extint plants and animals
that still do not have a specific name.
We also note some endangered species like the green turtle exinticion, hammerhead
sharks and poisonous frog and some extinct species as the spider monkey, frog
chiriqui and the loggerhead turtle.
Biodiversity is composed of genes within species, the species in ecosystems and
ecosystems that make up the biosphere.
Panamarama Gallery
This gallery is about a video that show us the biodiversity that we have in Panam
The video we can see includes an introduction to the concept of "biosphere", a tour of
overflowing vitality through the ecologies of variety and amazing biodiversity found
along the land and sea of Panama, life in all their shapes and colors, and breathtaking
animation of the formation of the Isthmus of Panama and the effects of this
extraordinary event worldwide.
The originality of this gallery is something that draws our attention since it contains
10 screens around the gallery with special effects.

El puente surge Gallery

In this gallery we explain step by step how the Isthmus of Panama emerged, by the
movement of tectonic plates as soon as this country was emerging from the sea to
join North America with South America. In this gallery we can see the changes
generated by the emergence of the isthmus as the change in weather conditions and
migration of species.
One of the things we liked most of this gallery was that it was very interactive and
interesting.
The gallery contains videos about the emerge of the Isthmus and how it was changing
trought the years also we saw volcanoes stones and rare shells.

Gran Intercambio
In this gallery we observe the changes caused by the emergence of the Isthmus
of Panama. there was an exchange of species, this means that northern species
migrating to the south and south migrating to the north.
Some species that migrated from place to place were: elanio migratorio, spider
monkey, giant capybara, cougar and deers.
La Huella Humana
this is the last gallery and is located outdoors.
In this gallery we can see how was the first settlers and their evolution, their
economic activities and how was their culture.
Conclusion
Biomuseo attend was a unique experience. We learn a little more about our
beautiful biodiversity and also learned that we must take care and value our
biodiversity. We should all be very happy to live in Panama and we are
considered one of the most biodiverse and thanks to the emergence of the
Isthmus several positive changes occur.
We must protect the environment to conserve our rich biodiversity.
