Range of shot types and editing

transitions

There are a range of shot types throughout. This helps

establish the genre because they reflect and relate to the
genre.
Variation of shots applies to the tension and suspense held.
Transitions are appropriate.

However, maybe introduce some shots at the start no

showing the face to build up tension and mystery.
N/A.

Appropriate pace and genre for

audience

Some shots have a good pace relating and reflecting the

genre.
Pace works well. The content is appropriate for your
audience yet still fulfils the genres sequence.

Some shots move quickly e.g. at 54s it pans across the

kitchen, which could be seen as too fast as it doesnt reflect
the situation.
When the character is in trouble, shorten the length of the
shots to reflect this.

Positions and order of titles

Titles look very professional, linking in with the crime genre.

The expansion from the titles help with the build up and
relates to the genre.
Intertitles cut within production makes the format more
noticeable for audience due to their attention on the screen

Maybe dont show your name more than once. Also improve
the way your titles are presented, it may be seen as
confusing otherwise. E.g. Anna de Vries, as the girl.
Perhaps add more concerning the production team

Introduction of characters

N/A.
You get a clear picture of the positions they both hold. E.g.Burglar clothes and actions are made obvious

It can be confusing who each character is and there isnt

much of an introduction to any character.
When second character wakes up, try to add more
movement in shots and more expressive emotion

Introduction of story line

The introduction of the storyline is good and can be

understood and reflects the genre.
Clear and understandable that the burglary Is taking place,
murder and burglary both apply to the genre

However, showing more of the investigation could help

suggest the genre. Also you could start with the crime scene
then what happened at the crime scene.
Unsure what Tench Means and how it is relevant.

Clearly an opening sequence

Due to the titles you can see it is an opening sequence.

Yes, this is clearly an opening sequence due to its ability to
gain the audiences attention and create enigma codes

Although it could be mistaken for a short film due to the fact

that it has a lot of the scene in one shot.

Sound

The sound effects have an instant impact on the genre and

reflect the genre of the crime very well, keeping the sound
the same continuously helps to know its the same scene.
The music and sound effects are very effective at creating the
mood.

Maybe add more sound effects during the sequence to help

distinguish what the character is doing.
Perhaps raise the tempo of the music as the second character
wakes up
