Course objective
The course aims to provide legal practitioners with an understanding and an update on the new Probate Checklist
launched by the Judiciary on 10 June 2015. The introduction of the new Probate Checklist by the Probate Registry turns
the probate practice into a highly specialized sector of the professional work. Legal professionals must be well aware of
the risks before properly advising their clients and preparing an application for grant. The presenters will also share their
experiences and difficulties encountered in completing the new Probate Checklist for applying for grant which may help
avoiding unnecessary delay that may give rise to claims against solicitors.
About the course
The seminar will cover the following issues:

How to prepare an application for grant, including the New Probate Checklist, the specified forms and the supporting
documents;

To highlight the salient features of the new Probate Checklist;

To share the speakers experiences on the difficulties they encountered in completing the new Probate Checklist.
