India committed 35% emission reduction by 2030
India has announced its INDC(Intended Nationally Determined Contributions) with reference to
the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) committing to reduce its emissions
intensity by 33-35% by 2030. With this India becomes the 147th country to submit and
publicizing its INDC to UNFCC among its 196 members.

Andhra Pradesh set to allot 2,720 acres to DRDO for missile testing project
The Andhra Pradesh cabinet, which met here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister
Chandrababu Naidu, decided to allot 2,720 acres of land near Orvakallu in Kurnool
district for DRDOs missile testing project.
The cabinet also decided to allot 1,965 acres of land to build a naval base at
Rayavaram village in Visakhapatnam district.
The 531 police stations of the state have been linked with this quick delivery system which

Indias Poverty Rate Lowest Among Nations with Poor Population: World Bank
A latest World Bank report has announced that India accounted for the largest number of poor
people in any country in 2012, but its poverty rate was lowest among countries having large
number of poor population.
Based on the report, the number of people living in extreme poverty around the world is
likely to fall to under 10 per cent of the global population by this year.
This reveals that the world is moving closer to its mission of ending poverty by 2030.
The poverty rate in low-income countries was on an average of 43% in 2012, while in
middle-income-countries, it was 19%. The lower-middle-income countries are home to
about half of the global poor as compared to a third for low-income countries.
Four nations (China, India, Indonesia and Nigeria) with the largest populations were
once classified as low-income but now they have moved into lower-middle-income
category.
51 foreign and 70 Indian delegates participated in the meetings and the event would
conclude with a valedictory address by the Union Minister of Human Resources

PM lays foundation stone for 4th container terminal of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust

Drought in 14708 Villages of Maharashtra
Maharashtra government revealed that 14708 villages(total villages 43000) of
Maharashtra state are in drought like condition.This was about 34% of the state.
The Marathwada region is worst drought affected region.In thyis region the drought
condition is declared in every single village.Almost 8522 villages in the region is affected
with this.This accounts for 58% of the drought area in the state.
The district like Nashik and Jalgaon which included in the North Maharashtra is the
next affected area.Here 4869 villages is affected.This accounts for 33% of the drought
area.
As of now Rs 920 crore provided for drought relief in which Rs 556 crore is from the centre.

UD Ministry Clears First Batch of AMRUT Projects in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and

The Ministry of Urban Development has approved the first batch of state level Action Plans under
Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).

On 21st October 2015 the inter-ministerial Apex Committee of AMRUT cleared plans

A quarterly global survey of 2,580 business leaders called The Grant Thornton International
Business Report (IBR) reveals that India ranked second after Ireland in terms of the
business optimism.
India Inc originated as the second most optimistic in the business optimism globally in a
survey showing that 86 per cent of Indian respondents are bullish about an increase in
revenue of their companies.
The survey also mention that 86 percent Indian Business are optimistic about

India and Lithuania Agree to Intensify Agricultural Cooperation

Four ways to reduce health risks from climate pollutants: WHO Report
The World Health Organisation and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to Reduce ShortLived Climate Pollutants have produced a report outlining the urgent need to reduce emissions
of black carbon, ozone, methane and carbon dioxide, which all contribute to climate change.
Frequently described as short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs), they not only produce a strong
global warming effect, they contribute significantly to the more than 7 million premature deaths
annually linked to air pollution.
The four key interventions, rated medium to high:

NABARD sanctions Rs 135-crore loan to Haryana for rural development
The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned a loan of Rs

The funds have been sanctioned for Rehabilitation of JLN feeder system in three
districts of Jhajjar, Rewari and Mahendergarh.(Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Feeder system
was established in 1980)

With this sanction, the cumulative RIDF assistance sanctioned by NABARD to Haryana has reached

Reserve Bank of India(RBI) Governor Raghuram Rajan went with the majority view of external
members on the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) on the policy rate to announce the rate
cut.
RBI, cut its benchmark policy rate- the repo rate by 50 bps to 6.75% to kick start
economic activity on September 29.
RBI: Banks are free to fix Interest Rates on Gold Deposit Scheme
The Reserve Bank of India issued guidelines for the Gold Monetisation Scheme (GMS) that
allow banks to fix their own interest rates on gold deposits.
The gold deposit scheme is aimed at mobilising part of an estimated 20,000 tonnes of idle
precious metal with households and institutions.
As Per guidelines
Banks will be free to set interest rate on such deposit, and principal and interest of

The designated banks will accept gold deposits under the Short Term (1-3 years) Bank
Deposit (STBD) as well as Medium (5-7 years) and Long (12-15 years) Term
Government Deposit Schemes.
The short term bank deposits will be applicable on cash reserve ratio (CRR) andstatutory
liquidity ratio (SLR).
There is no bar for maximum gold deposit but the minimum deposit at one time
should be raw gold equivalent to 30 grams of 995 fineness standards.
The payments banks would have simplified Know-Your-Customer (KYC), Anti Money
Laundering (AML) and Countering Financing of Terrorism (CFT) norms.
The payments banks are permitted to provide remittance services, including through
mobile telephones, and many of the approved entities are mobile operators.
Yes Bank inks partnership with Snapdeal and Blue Dart to facilitate faster seller

Maharashtra headquartered Yes Bank has inked a partnership with Snapdeal and Blue Dart to
enhance the Cash on Delivery (COD) model by making strategic interventions in the financial
supply chains of these companies.
The partnership is under Yes Transact (Yes Banks banking product suite) and will enable
Snapdeal to receive cash-on-delivery proceeds from Blue Dart in a faster and

Government has decided to enhance the financial powers delegated to designated Central
Government hospitals/institutes from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh under Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi
(RAN) for providing financial assistance in cases where emergency surgery is to be conducted.

RBI allows Indian corporate to issue offshore rupee-denominated bonds outside India
RBI has allowed companies to issue rupee-denominated bonds abroad that will address both
pricing and currency risks.
The move follows robust demand for rupee-denominated bonds issued by the International
Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Asian Development Bank(ADB).
The matter of taxation of income from such bonds under the Income-tax Act, 1961 has
been considered by the government and will attract withholding tax of 5%.
Legislative amendment in this regard will be proposed through the Finance Bill, 2016.
