Row 2: Ch 3, turn; 2 dc in same st, ch 1, [work Shell in


next Shell (ch-1 sp), ch 1] across to last 5 dc, skip next
4 dc, 3 dc in last dc.

Baby Fingering Weight Yarn [13/4 ounces
(270 yards) per skein]: White
Complete set - 14 skeins
Sacque only - 3 skeins
Bonnet and Booties only - 1 skein
Blanket only - 10 skeins
Crochet hook, size D (3.25 mm) or size
needed for gauge

Complete set - 41/2 yards

Sewing needle and thread
Tapestry needle

To work Long Single Crochet (abbreviated LSC),


insert hook in ch-1 sp one row below next ch-1 (working
around next ch-1), YO and pull up a loop, YO and draw
through both loops on hook.

GAUGE: 24 dc and 13 rows = 4"

Row 7: Ch 3, turn; 2 dc in same st, ch 1, H skip next


4 dc, work Shell in next dc, ch 1; repeat from H across
to last 5 dc, skip next 4 dc, 3 dc in last dc: 29 Shells.

Row 3: Ch 3, turn; 2 dc in same st, ch 2, work LSC,


ch 2, H work Shell in next Shell, ch 2, work LSC, ch 2;
repeat from H across to last 3 dc, skip next 2 dc, 3 dc in
last dc.
Row 4: Ch 1, turn; sc in first dc, ch 4, (sc in next Shell,

Row 1: Dc in fourth ch from hook (3 skipped chs
count as first dc, now and throughout) and in next

CROWN

BACK
Row 1: With wrong side facing, skip first 26 dc on
Row 14 of Crown and join yarn with slip st in next dc;
ch 3, dc in next 23 dc, leave remaining 26 dc unworked:
24 dc.
Rows 2-14: Ch 3, turn; dc in next dc and in each dc
across.
Finish off.
Sew sides of Back to skipped dc of Crown.
FRONT BAND
Row 1: With right side facing and working in free loops
of beginning ch, join yarn with sc in first ch; sc in next
75 chs: 76 sc.
Row 2: Ch 3, turn; dc in Back Loop Only of next sc
and each sc across.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in both loops of each dc across.
Row 4: Ch 3, turn; 2 dc in same st, ch 1, H skip next
4 sc, work Shell in next sc, ch 1; repeat from H across to
last 5 sc, skip next 4 sc, 3 dc in last sc: 14 Shells.
Row 5: Ch 3, turn; 2 dc in same st, ch 1, (work Shell in
next Shell, ch 1) across to last 5 dc, skip next 4 dc, 3 dc
in last dc.
Row 6: Ch 3, turn; 2 dc in same st, ch 2, work LSC,
ch 2, H work Shell in next Shell, ch 2, work LSC, ch 2;
repeat from H across to last 3 dc, skip next 2 dc, 3 dc in

Row 7: Ch 1, turn; sc in first dc, work Picot, (sc in

Fold Front Band to right side along free loops on Row 1

To decrease, pull up a loop in next 2 sc, YO and draw
through all 3 loops on hook (counts as one sc).
Row 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in first sc, (decrease, sc in next
sc) across: 55 sc.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across; do not

EDGING
Rnd 1: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across to last sc, 3 sc

3 rows, sc in same st as first sc; join with slip st to
first sc: 140 sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in same st, work Picot, skip next

H around; join with slip st to first sc, finish off.
Sew one end of an 18" length of ribbon to one corner on
front of Bonnet; tie a 9" length of ribbon in a bow and
sew to corner.
Repeat for second corner.

CUFF
Rnd 1: With right side facing, join yarn with slip st in
same st as joining (at heel); ch 3, dc in next 13 dc, skip
first dc on Instep, dc in next 9 dc, skip next dc, dc in last
14 dc on Sides; join with slip st to first dc: 37 dc.
Rnd 2 (Eyelet rnd): Ch 4, skip next 2 dc, H dc in next
dc, ch 1, skip next dc; repeat from H around; join with
slip st to third ch of beginning ch-4: 18 ch-1 sps.
Rnd 3: Ch 2, dc in next ch-1 sp and in each dc and
each ch-1 sp around; skip ch-2 and join with slip st to
first dc: 35 dc.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same st, ch 1, skip next 4 dc,
