The event started with a doxology and followed by the singing of the
Philippine National Anthem. After the doxology and the national anthem, no
introductions were done. It was requested by the resource speaker to
personally introduce himself to the participants. It was a brief introduction.
After his self introduction, Mr. Peter P. Marzan, the invited speaker,
immediately started his lecture about the topic.
The seminar was like having a class discussion; the speaker as the instructor
and the participants as the students. The speaker did not even use the
microphone so as not to bore the students because he was also an instructor
in Saint Louis College for 2 years and he already knows how to handle
students. Before presenting his prepared presentation to the listeners, he
asked who are the graduating students from the participants.
With the help of some active participants, the seminar was made lively by
the question-and-answer portions in between the lecture. The speaker kept
on asking questions to maintain the interest and attention of the participants.
But there were times when the participants were very eager to listen to the
speaker’s lecture especially when the presentation focuses on students’
attitudes that may lead to his failrue or success in his career.
During the seminar proper, there was no room for boredom because the
presentation of the topic was in a very interesting manner. The participants
were also encouraged to ask relevant questions whenever they feel like
asking the speaker.
The seminar lasted for nearly 2 hours. Questions were raised by some
students to clarify things and ideas from the speaker.
The seminar ended with the giving of certificate and token to the speaker
together with Mr. Jeoffrey Layco, FieldTrips and Seminars instructor.
