Dress Code for Students of

AMA Computer College

I. Introduction

AMA Computer College is the largest educational institution in Asia and

pioneer in computer-based learning.

As in the other parts of the world, the growing trend in the Philippines is
towards computerization. However, the object conditions of the national economy
are still not totally suitable to this modern technology. The distributors had to find
ways of ensuring acceptance and usage in order to increase the demand for
computers. The formula was simple: train programmers for wider distribution
base.

In June 1981, the AMA Computer College (AMACC) was born with the
launching of a 4-year degree course in BS computer Science. Over the years,
more branches were established in key cities nationwide.

AMACC Batangas Branch has a complete facility from computer

laboratories, rooms, chairs and tables, air conditioners, maintenance and in
faculty as well. Modern technology is one of the reason why HS Student enrolling
in AMACC. They believe IT is better here in AMACC.

Students of AMACC Batangas Branch start with small population and

now, it’s getting wider every year from freshmen students.

Regards with the dress codes, students are free will to dress and now, the
proponents are proposing to implement not totally uniform but a dress code to
make sure that AMACC Batangas Branch students will recognized as a student
of this branch.

A. Statement of the Problem

Dress code that the proponents are proposing has a main problem of not
recognizing as a student especially when the proponents are commuting in public
transportation.

Many drivers were not convinced that the proponents are a student of
AMACC Batangas Branch unless the proponents testify or show our Identification
Card (ID). Many students are claiming that they are not availing a student
discount.
B. Recommendation or Summary of the proposed solution

If the proponents’ proposal will be implemented, the students will never

encounter the said scenario. It will be easier for the students to avail the discount
appropriate to them.

The proposal is all about dress code for AMACC students. It is a color
coding shirt to recognize and a way to promote the AMACC Batangas School.

II. Discussion of Recommendation of the proposed solution:

The survey gives details on how the dress coding will be implemented. It
explains if the respondents will agree or disagree in implementing the dress
code. It also explains what attire they like, a t-shirt or a polo shirt, how many
shirts must have and what color it should be. The day where the dress codes
should be worn is also included in the questionnaire.

The result of the survey is majority of the respondents agreed in

implementing and 15 out of 75 disagreed. The respondents want a black polo-
shirt twice a week and it will be Monday and Friday to be worn. Next to majority is
the choice of white color.

The respondents agreed with the dress code implementation. They agree
in availing at least two polo-shirts and will be worn every Mondays and Fridays.
The polo-shirts will be black or white with AMACC logo to show that they are
students of AMACC.

IV. Cost Analysis

The average of total cost for the dress code is P400 for two polo shirts per
student who avail it.

V. Benefits

. 1. A school uniform makes it easier for the school authorities to recognize

students belonging to their school. It also makes it somewhat tougher for those
that do not belong to slip in; unless, of course, they go to all the trouble of buying
a uniform that fits

2. A school uniform also saves the school administrators from having to police
what the students wear. There are no daily battles regarding what is appropriate
or not for school.
3. A school uniform apparently also saves students from putting their fashion
tastes before their learning requirements. When they do not have to spend time
wondering what to wear and how to make a fashion statement, they can devote
more time to getting an education. Theoretically, that is.

4. Wearing the same type of dress reduces social snobbery and peer pressure in
educational institutions. It is also supposed to reduce incidents of bullying and
theft. How do you pick on someone for wearing the same dress as yourself? Why
would you steal a pair of shoes you both have and can afford?

5. School uniforms cramp the style of gang members. They have to recognize
each other by names and faces instead of by flaunting aggressively painted
jackets, t-shirts with obscene messages, clunky jewelry, and things like that.
Instead of ‘my gang’ and ‘your gang’, they also have to think in terms of ‘our
school’. It is a hard life. On the brighter side, it helps them to live another day and
go on to survive in college.

6. A school uniform can instill a sense of discipline and community feeling. This
naturally reduces incidents of violence. Students can come to school without
worrying about personal safety. Teachers do not have to double as guards, and
can concentrate on teaching.

VI. Recommendation

1. Implementation of a specific uniform for all students must be in new

survey and the style should be also included.

2. Faster connection of internet.

3. The air cons should properly be working.

4. Must have a generators in AMA in case of electric short out

5. Wide campus for all the students.
