Allied Light Assault Walker Platoon

Allied light assault walkers are some of the lightest and

fastest walkers in existence. The Allied forces use them for
traditional light cavalry roles: scouting enemy positions,
covering open flanks, and supporting infantry against light
opposition. Although lightly armoured, they pack a punch
and move incredibly fast, often hitting the enemy unawares.

Although they are by far the fastest walkers in existence,

the speed of the M3-series medium combat walkers and
the Heavy Rangers in their rocket-propelled XM18 Aerial
Assault Power Armour, along with the versatility of the
P-48 Pelican ground-attack aircraft, mean that they are
usually able to call on their support for heavy firepower.

The Allied light assault walker embodies the spirit of

cavalry, moving fast, flanking the enemy and hitting hard.
The M1-series light walkers are among the fastest land
vehicles found in any army, and being walkers, they dont
have the difficulties with rough terrain that other armies
fast light vehicles have. The pilot has to operate the walkers weapons while moving at speed so these guys have a
tough job and need to be well trained. Many of the best
pilots are former motorcyclists (often those with reputations for the most hair-raising stunts), who now drive a
very different kind of bike, one with big guns this time.

At the start of the game, before any miniatures are placed

on the table, a any or all M1 Light Assault Walkers
(such as an M1A Wildfire or an M1D Bushmaster) in
or supporting a Light Assault Walker Platoon may be
placed in Reserve.
When an M1 Light Assault Walker in or supporting the
platoon arrives from Reserve, they can move on from
a table edge adjacent to their normal arrival zone (or
adjacent to their deployment area if the mission does not
normally have Reserves), as long as they arrive outside
the opposing deployment area. However, if they do so,
roll a die at the start of their Activation. On a , their
Activation will end after the Move Action that brings
them onto the table.

Allied Light Assault Walkers

Since the acquisition of VK technology, the Allies have
embraced the concept of the walker like no other bloc
on the planet. This new type of war machine suits their
military philosophy and organization perfectly. Walkers,
particularly light ones, are very easy to ship all over the
world where Allied forces are in combat. And thats pretty
much everywhere. Tanks take much more space and are far
heavier, even the light ones. They demand more and bigger
ships that use more fuel, more steel to build, etc.
Because of this Allied forces love their walkers on a strategic level. But also on a tactical one: while lighter these
vehicles can have the same firepower as a heavier walker.

Most of the vehicles built on the M1 Light Assault Walker

chassis are very lightly armoured, just enough to protect
the pilot against rifle fire from the front. They rely on their
speed and on shooting first to stay out of harms way.

M1A Wildfire Light Assault WalkerMachine-gun

The M1A Wildfire was the first M1 light assault walker

to be developed. Designed as a mobile AA platform with
quad .50cal machine guns, it has quickly became a popular
anti-aircraft and anti-infantry weapon.

M1B Blackhawk Light Assault WalkerPIAT

The M1B Blackhawk is armed with a heavy PIAT based on

the old British Projector Infantry Anti-Tank. This unusual
weapon fires a barrage of powerful short-range anti-tank
rounds capable of destroying any walker in existence. The
Blackhawks unique fully-armoured chassis protects the
pilot from small-arms fire and tank-mounted machine-gun
fire while it closes to destroy its target.

M1C Honey Light Assault WalkerPhaser

The M1C Honey is a masterpiece of engineering. With the

combination of speed and powerful phaser weapons there
is little these walkers cant handle. The dual 120W phaser
guns can melt through the heaviest armour on the planet in
seconds. Its pilots need to be careful though. At full rate of
fire the Honeys phasers drain its small power cells, so pilots
are trained to fire in short bursts.

M1D Bushmaster Light Assault WalkerAnti-tank

The M1D Bushmaster is the latest light assault walker.
Armed with twin M20 75mm recoilless guns and a .30 cal
machine-gun, these walkers are more flexible than their
predecessors. The Bushmaster excels in ambushing both
infantry and light walkers.
