Declaration Against Free Household

Chores
When in the course of family events, it becomes necessary for one superior
sibling to put a stop to the tyrannical demands of the parents, and to assume among the
freedoms of a Teenager, the separate and somewhat equal position (Montesquieu) to
which the Natural Laws of High School entitle them (Hobbes), love and respect of the
time-and wallets- of the most wonderful parents requires that they should declare the
causes which impel them to the relinquishment of non-paid duties.
We hold these truths to be self evident, that not all siblings are created equal
(Rousseau)-as some are created first- that they are not, but should be, endowed by their
creator certain unalienable rights, that among these are a thriving social life for the oldest
(and favorite) child and the chance to earn money to maintain aforementioned social life,
all of which result in the happiness and agreeability of the favorite child. To secure these
rights the child turns to its hierarchical form of government, also known as the parents,
who do not derive their power from the consent of the governed. And if this form of
government is tyrannical or unfair in any way the child has no right to abolish it
(Rousseau), at least not until they are eighteen years of age and able to govern
themselves. This long-standing hierarchical form of government is not easily changed
and nearly impossible to abolish especially when acting inside of the government;

however when one tyrannic act is consistently repeated it is the right, nay, the duty, to at
least attempt to make a difference. The history of the parents of the family Hinton is a
history of repeated Tyrannical demands that have a negative impact on the superior
childs social life. To prove this, a list of facts have been drawn up to be shown to the
world as representation for superior children everywhere.

The leaders of the hierarchy (hereby referred to as they) have unfairly requested
that the superior child do ALL of the laundry without payment of any kind.

They have required that the superior child watch the inferior child(ren) whenever
they so please without any regard to the schedule of the superior child.

They have put a limit on what the superior child can and cannot do without a
consultation with said superior child.

They have unfairly required that the superior child clean any mess whether it was
theirs or not, also without consultation.

They have required you to bring along your inferior siblings when you go to
public outings with your peers.

They have given almost no say to the lower hierarchy causing an unbalance of
powers (Montesquieu).

They keep all the children captive in the home with mental arms such as the threat
of grounding (Locke).

In the majority of these stages of this ridiculous and untimely oppression no

petition or protest has been able to be made until now. The superior children want no
extra protection, and may in fact prefer less. We have explained to the Parentals the

mysterious inner workings of high school and tried to appeal to their past experiences for
understanding and still they have let us, the children down.
Therefore, as the representative of all the superior children in the United States of
America, do declare that the Parentals have a responsibility to pay the superior children
for whatever work they may do for said Parental units. The chain between free
household chores and the eldest child has now been totally dissolved, and this message is
to be spread to the superior children of America, and eventually the world. With an
uncertain reliance on the sisterhood (Hobbes) that is the struggle of superior children we
pledge to each other our unconditional support in the altering of Parental tyranny
(Locke). Unless, of course, it causes our phones to be taken away.
