December 2015

Dear Friend,
Greetings to you on this beautiful December day! One of my favorite things
about this time of year is that most people think of that day when our Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ was born into the world. The scene, the characters involved and
the things the angel told Mary, His mother, all bring fulfillment to Scriptures.
One such Scripture is found in Isaiah 9:6, which says, "For unto us a child is
born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder:
and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The
Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Too many only want to remember Him
as a child that was born. We see the image of an infant laying in a manger without
thinking that infant grew up to be the man who died for our sins. He was the man of
all men, pure in words, actions, and motives. He was sinless and innocent of every
charge against Him. Yet He suffered for each of us, "that He by the grace of God
should taste death for every man (Hebrews 2:9). The last greatest enemy to man is
death, and the Lord Jesus defeated it by rising from the dead! From the cradle to the
grave to heaven itself, Jesus Christ proved just how much God loves you and me!
Yes, He was the Son that was given for us. He took the penalty for our sins.
The government, or empire, or kingdom, shall be upon His shoulder. He bears
the responsibility of it. He carries the glory and honor of it because without Him all
would be lost. He carries the burden of His kingdom, not just our burdens. He is
responsible for it's outcome. He said He would build His church, and the gates of
hell shall not prevail against it. If you are a part of His kingdom then even hell
cannot prevail against you either!
We can cast our burdens and cares upon Him for He cares for us. This is why
His name is called Wonderful. He makes all things new (Revelation 21:5). When He
works in your life He works wonders. He goes deeper than emotions and feelings:
He touches your spirit and lifts your heart. He fulfills and satisfies the empty places.
His name is also called "Counsellor." His Word, the Bible, gives us guidance and
purpose, or vision. Though He creates wonders, His Word counsels us to restore and
help us overcome those areas so we don't keep falling into needs. That is what truly
is amazing about our Savior!

His name is called "The Mighty God." He is valiant, courageous, and

powerful. The angel expressed to Mary when he told her she would bring forth the
Messiah, "For with God nothing shall be impossible" (Luke 1:37). Your situation
is not impossible with God! Your need is not greater than His power and grace. If the
Spirit of God has spoken something into your spirit then you can rest assured that He
will fulfill it in His time and in His own way. You won't have to figure it out or push
yourself or "help" God accomplish His will. All you need do is respond to Him as
Mary did: "And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me
according to thy Word" (Luke 1:38). He that is mighty did great things with Mary.
All she did was submit to His will. Can you do any more than that?
His name is also "The Everlasting Father." With so many fathers not in their
children's lives any more it is difficult for them to relate to a good father figure. But
the best example of a father is found in the relationship the Lord Jesus had with His
heavenly Father. He said to His disciple Philip, "Have I been so long with you, and
yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father"
(John 14:9). To be like the Father you have to take time and be with the Father. He
is a Father that will never forsake you. He lovingly guides our steps. Even when the
path seems to be full of tragedies, yet He always guides us into victories!
This child born and Son given is also called "The Prince of Peace." In the
original the Hebrew word for peace is shalom. In Christ Jesus is found every desire
for peace, prosperity, wealth, health, and favorable blessings. When Christ brings
peace to you it is just the beginning of the brightest chapter in your life! The
possibilities for advancement and grace are presented to each believer. The quality of
excellence is given and if you will allow His presence to develop an excellent spirit
in you there is no telling what God can do in and through you! Christmas is much
more than presents under a tree. Christmas is more than "things" and laughter,
although that can have a part, too. Christmas is remembering Him who came into the
world to take away our sins. Ask Him into your heart today, to cleanse you and
forgive you of every sin, and you will have the most blessed Christmas you ever
had!
I invite you to our church. We are located at 624 Torringford West Street in

Sincerely,

Rev. Daniel Bossidy
