Assessed 22 sites (3 business units) to determine environmental health safety compliance. Initiated
the generation, revision and, implementation of environmental health safety plans / programs to fill
gaps discovered. Trained trainers and employees in: HAZCOM, LOTO, PPE, Permit Required
Confined Space (PRCS), Fall Protection, Industrial vehicle operation and, environmental aspects to
fill the compliance gaps. All sites brought into training compliance within 9 months.
Accidents, injuries and recordables were increasing. Developed, implemented and, led enterprise
wide safety initiatives including Safestart training to raise safety awareness and, individual
accountability. These initiatives reduced recordables, and led to reducing incurred Workmans
Compensation costs by $1.27 million: 65% (2014 vs 2013), 56% (2015 vs 2014).
Led the training and, championed accident investigation and root cause analysis. The investigations
led to understanding the root cause and implementing corrective actions. These findings were
conveyed to all employees which increased awareness and reduced accidents and injuries by ~35%.

Changes in OSHA regulations, highlighted gaps in compliance. Gaps were resolved by developing /
implementing safety plans and training: HAZCOM, LOTO, PPE, PRCS, Asbestos, Fall and, PIV.
Recordables injuries in 2009 were 24. Led the team to reduce recordables by developing and
implementing plant wide safety initiatives. This enabled successive reductions in recordables of:
20 in 2010, 13 in 2011 and, 2 in 2012. Significant part of the safety initiative was Safestart training.
