intoextremedetailontheeveryaspectoftheColdWarandeverytinydecisionmadeby
JohnF.Kennedy.Thereweremanymoresmallissuesthatarenotusuallydiscussed
aroundtheCubanMissileCrisisthatwereincludedinthisbook.Theonlyproblemisthat

thestoryistoldexclusivelyfromKennedyandAmerica'sperspective,whileonlyspeaking
ofwhatwashappeninginCubaandRussiawhenithastodowithAmerica.However,this

totaketheJupitermissilesoutofTurkeyinexchangefortheremovalofSovietmissiles
inCuba.TheauthorbeginsbyexplainingthatwhentheagreementtoremovetheJupiter
missileswasmadeitwaskeptasecretfromthepublic.Infact,theissuehadneverbeen
publiclydiscusseduntilRFKsbookwasposthumouslypublished,buteventherethedeal
isneverexplicitlymentioned.However,theauthorthenpresentsseveralkeyprimary

processoftheCubanMissileCrisis.However,theauthorarguesthatRFKwasnotas
perfectashistorycommonlydepictshim.Forexample,thearticlestatesthatRFKwas
initiallyinfavorofaninvasionofCubainsteadofablockadebecauseofhisrecent
failureintheBayofPigs.Hewasessentiallylookingforrevenge.Additionally,theauthor
believesthatwhenRFKmadehisfamouscomparisontotheJapanesewhileplanningthe
