the pathfinder tool to cut and combine these simple shapes.

unify the stationery pieces.
-I enlarged the sail D and placed it on the back of the business card.
-Once the logo was created, I opened a new two page InDesign document and

Process:
I created the logo using simple shapes in Adobe Illustrator. I also used the
pathfinder tool to cut and combine these simple shapes. Once the logo was
created, I opened a new two page InDesign document and placed my logo
.AI file into this document. I decided to make my first page a letterhead.
I positioned the placed logo in the top left corner of my letterhead. I then
typed my con- tact information into a text box and positioned it on the
right hand side of the letterhead. I added the boat shat and extended it
across the page to unify the information and to get some repetition. I also
added a large version of the boat and sailor as a watermark. I kept the
opacity to about 15%.

Process : (Programs, Tools, Skills, Steps taken while designing):
I created this web page using only TextWrangler. After I marked up
all my content and inserted my image, I attached a pre-made CSS
document to my HTML. I then used the colors from my logo as the
colors for my web page. I found these colors by opening Photoshop
and using the eyedropper tool. I also changed my fonts to Times New
Roman and Arial. I also used padding around the logo and text so that
they would not be too close to the edge of the web page.

-Find, scan, and import a high-quality image.

-Use text boxes for layout in Word
-Insert and edit images in Word
Process : (Programs, Tools, Skills, Steps taken while designing):
The program used is Microsoft Word, I arranged my design in a way
that the focal point can be clearly defined and as a result the flow and
hierarchy of the design came out allot smoother. I tried to make good
use of rhythm and gestalt using alignment of the text and images
throughout the design.

Logos
Description:
These are three logos that I designed representing a fictional company
Date: 10/30/15
Course/Instructor:
Comm 130 section 3
Ben Pingel
Program(s)/Tools:
Adobe Illustrator
Objectives:
-construct shapes properly and grouping, dividing, and arranging them with over
relating shapes.
-Using the various tools (pen, pencil, brush, etc)
Process:
These our my three logos that I created, the fist one is in the shape of a bus; I used the
shape tool to make a rounded rectangle outline then divided the shape in two and filled
them with the complementary colors orange and blue. To simulate windows I used
the shape tool again to create small squares and filled them with the color black. Lastly
I selected circles from the shape tool and filled them with black as well to look like
wheels.
My second logo is in the shape of a boat, since theres no triangle in the shape tool I
simply used the pen tool to draw out the shape and connect the end points to create a
sail. For the bottom half of the boat I created an oval with the shape tool and cut it in
half to create the boat like shape. I then used the pen tool to connect the triangle sail
and boat together and complete the image. And finally filled the bottom half oval with
teal color.
For my third logo I created an image that looks like a train. This one was mostly done
my hand with the pencil tool, I drew out the outline and divided the shape into three
compartments where I filled with three different colors (teal, blue, indigo) to create an
analogous color scheme. I made a square shape in the front of the train and filled it with
black to look like a windshield.
