Description

To create a religious or inspirational design

using a quote and blending and masking tools.

Programs

Adobe Photoshop

Objectives

To learn the basics of masking in Photoshop to

blend two photos together seamlessly.

Process

I began by deciding on what message I wanted to send. I found the

quote, and immediately the painting Girl With a Pearl Earring by
Vermeer came to my mind. I loved how the woman in the picture looks
so strong yet beautiful. I used photoshop to blend the images together.

Description

A logo displayed in three different ways: regularly,

black and white, and with a dark background.

Programs

Adobe Illustrator

Objectives

Teton
Geotourism
Center

To learn how to create three variations of a logo

for a single company.

Process

I used Adobe illustrator to create this design. I started by choosing my company

I was going to design for. I chose the real company, the Teton Geotourism Center.
I looked at their old logo and decided to echo aspects from it in my new design.
The moose and the mountains were two aspects that I liked in the old design
that I decided to use in the new one. Before I settled on this specific design, I
came up with two other designs that were contenders. I asked 10 people which
they liked the most, and 9 out of 10 said that they liked the one that I chose.

Description

A recently taken photo and a color scheme that

is displayed in swatches on the design

Programs

Adobe Photoshop

Objectives

To improve skills in Photoshop, as well

as improving skills in photography and
determining color schemes.

Process

I started this project with another photo I liked. The color scheme was
too broad and I did not end up using the photo. Later, I found this pipe
that had a red knob-looking thing, with really green grass below it. My
mind went automatically to rebellion and graffiti culture. I used photoshop
to enhance the colors and take away some leaves that were in the grass.
I came up with the word Revolution, and tied it to one of my favorite
organizations, Fight the New Drug.

Description

A lettherhead that I could use for my own

personal business stationery.

Programs

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign

Objectives

To learn how to combine programs to

create one cohesive design.

Process

used Adobe Illustrator to make the graphics used in this design. I used Adobe
InDesign to compile these graphics to create a letterhead. I came up with the
airplane graphic, which feel like would represent my marketing company well (if I
actually had one). The name of the company comes from my name (Paige) and is a
little play on words. I used the Caryn Esplin Color Wheel to decide what colors I was
going to use. I chose the subdued, cool tones of teal, blue, and indigo because I
think they feel light and airy much like the airplane graphic.

Description

A business card that goes along with

my letterhead project.

Programs

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign

Objectives

To learn how to successfully create a business card

that represents a company. Also to improve our skills
at combining multiple programs.

Process

I used much of the work I had done in the Stationery project

to use in this project as well. The two went together and
would be used for the same company. I was playing around
with the dashed lines in Illustrator when I had the idea to
create the & with the dots. I ended up using that on the back
of the card along with the airplane graphic.

Description

A brochure with body copy, a new logo,

and 4 high quality images.

Programs

Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop,

Adobe Indesign

Objectives

To combine almost everything we have learned this

semester into one final project. This project shows
off what we have learned overall.

Process

I used Adobe Illustrator to create the logo and the image of the ukulele. I used
photoshop to cut out the image of the girl jumping with the ukulele. I wrote the
body copy first before I started sketching so I would know what my inspiration
would be for this brochure. I combined it all and started playing around with
where I would place my 4 HQ images I was required to use. I belive that I
placed them very strategically.

A web page that explains one of our

previously designed logos.

Programs
Text Wrangler

Objectives

To learn the basics about web design and

how we can use it in our future professions.

Process

I used a program called TextWrangler to edit the code that I used for
this design. I also used a pre-made skeleton of code that was provided
in the assignment to base my web page design off of. I chose the Teton
Geotourism Center logo that I created in Project 5 because I liked it better
than the logo I created in Project 6. I matched the hex colors from my
design using photoshop to ensure that it matched perfectly.

Description

A poster that advertises a non-profit event

for an organization.

Programs

Microsoft Word/ my HP photoscanner,

Objectives

To create an advertisement for a real or fake nonprofit organization. To learn how to design using
Microsoft Word.

Process

I began this project by finding an image I wanted to scan into

my design. I found this image in a newspaper and I loved it. The
simplicity was what drew me into this picture. After that, I had to
choose what message I wanted to get across. I did a sketch and
wrote the body of text. Next, I threw it all together in Microsoft
Word and edited and improved the design as much as I could.
