Lovecraft'sTheShadowOverInnsmouth.TheorganizationtakesitsnamefromitsWorldWarIIeracodename.
DeltaGreenagentsworkundercoverthroughotherU.S.governmentagencies,recruitingacrossawiderangeincludingtheFBI,ATF,CDC,
andDEA.Itappearstohave"gonerogue"somewherebetweenthe1960sandthe1980s,followingadisastrousoperationinCambodiaanda
"deal"struckbyReaganerarivalsinMajestic12,ostensiblywith"Greys".
ThegroupwasintroducedintheseventhissueofTheUnspeakableOath,aCallofCthulhufanzinecreatedbyPaganPublishing,inearly1993.
Fouryearslater,theDeltaGreensupplementappearedandspawnedanumberofitsownsupplementsandnovels.Thepremiseissimilarto
TheXFiles,althoughtheoriginalincarnationofDeltaGreenprecededTheXFilesbyalmostayear[2]).Bothdrawonfederalalphabetsoup
folklore,UFOconspiracytheoriesandothermodernlegends.
TheDeltaGreensupplementlaysthegroundworkfororganizedinvestigationsintoparanormalcrimeandhorror,settinguptheinitialplotand
providingplayerswiththeirmotivationsandtheresourcestheyneedtocarryouttheirtasks.Italsoprovidesasourceofreplacementsfor
characterswhogomadorarekilled.CanonicalmaterialsrevolvearoundthreatsfromtheCthulhuMythos,buttheframeworkisveryflexible.
DeltaGreenagentstypicallyknowlittleabouttheMythos.

History
In1998,DeltaGreenwontheOriginsAwardforBestRoleplayingSupplementof1997.Thesettingalsowontwoawardsin2000:BestGame
RelatedNovelof1999forDeltaGreen:TheRulesofEngagementandBestRoleplayingSupplementof1999forDeltaGreen:Countdown.
OnMay1,2006,thePaganPublishinghomepagewasupdatedwithanannouncementdescribingthereasonsforthedelayofthenewrelease
ofDeltaGreen,andstatingthatthed20editionofthegameshouldbeavailableintimeforGenConIndy.Whiletherewereafewshowcopies
availabletherewerenocopiesavailableforsaletothepublicasmostofthemwere"stillbeingshippedfromChina".[3]AsofMay2007the
book,whichisareprintofthe1997bookwiththeadditionofD20stats,wasfinallyreprintedandwasavailableinstores.[3]
AhardbackcompilationofthethreeDeltaGreenEyesOnlychapbooks,alongwithadditionalmaterial,wasreleasedinNovember2007.The
bookwaspublishedincooperationwithArcDreamPublishing.Theentire1,000copyprintrunwassoldoutbyFebruary2008.[4]The
hardbackeditionof"DeltaGreen:EyesOnly"wasafinalistfortheOriginsAwardforBestRoleplayingSupplementof2007.Asoftback
versionofthecompilationfollowedinSeptember2008andisavailabletoretaildistribution.
