Miami FOP Lodge# 20 We Support BSO Deputy Peter Peraza

A few days ago, BSO Deputy Peter Peraza was charged with manslaughter. Deputy Peraza responded to
a call of a man armed with a rifle. The suspect aimed the rifle towards the deputy and he was forced to
fire. The family of the suspect claims that Deputy Peraza should have not shot the suspect because he
had earphones on. The elected State Attorney for Broward, Michael J. Satz, gave into political pressure
and had Deputy Peraza arrested. By this BSO Deputy being arrested, it shows that in Broward if you
want to walk around recklessly with a rifle in your hands, all you have to do is place ear buds in your
ears.
The Miami Fraternal Order of Police stands with Deputy Peraza as well as all first responders that have
to make split second decisions to keep our communities safe. No police officer wants to take the life of
another person. However, if you aim a rifle at a police officer or the public, the response will most likely
conclude with someones life being taken.
Ive signed a petition in support of Deputy Peraza. You can show your support by signing it and
forwarding it to your family and loved ones.
