19th /20th December 2015

Dear Parishioners,
Here we are on the Fourth Sunday of Advent the
waiting to celebrate Our Saviours birth is almost here. Mary,
the mother of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ is centre stage in the gospel.
In the first reading from the prophet Micah, Bethlehem is mentioned the least
expected place for the Messiah to be born the time is now when she who is to give
birth, gives birth
Mary has just been visited by the angel Gabriel and has been invited to be the
Mother of God made flesh!
With certain fear trepidation and uncertainty of what was involved, Mary said:
Yes, I am the handmaid of the Lord, let what you have said be done to me.
But notice Mary, when she heard that her cousin Elizabeth was expecting a baby,
she went as quickly as she could to be with her. What a response! Mary could easily
have stayed and rested in the security of her own home! No, she responded to the need
of her cousin there is a very good example for us in Marys response.
In these last days before we celebrate the birth of Jesus, our Saviour, let us open
our hearts and minds to the needs of others it is there in other people that we see the
face of God!
In this same context we continue to reflect on the Jubilee Year of Mercy. We are
invited by Pope Francis to rejoice in Gods goodness, mercy, compassion, his love for us
always let us receive and accept his loving mercy, and THEN we can continue to share
it with others.
Please take and pass on our Christmas Services leaflet to your friends or
neighbours.
Its great to have Fr Samuel with us at this time.
Thanks for all your cards, greetings and gifts; they are all very much appreciated.
In advance, I wish you every blessing and joy in the coming days as we celebrate
Our Saviours birth. May the hope and joy of Christmas remain with us all in the year
ahead.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

Fr Joe

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY IN
