NOTES ON REMOVING THE FIXING ASSY (PREVENTING
E800 INDICATION)

Outline
Depending on how maintenance and inspection of the fixing assembly is performed, E800 may be indicated
in certain cases. To prevent this, notification is made here of items to note and measures to take to prevent
this.
Details
When the fixing assembly is removed from the main unit, if the AC line remains ON, arc discharge may
occur between the fixing assembly and main unit connector, and, in that case, will likely burn the connector.
This may cause a contact fault between the fixing assembly AC connector and main unit AC connector,
which in turn causes error code E800 to be indicated. To prevent this, though they are written in the Service
Manual, be absolutely sure to perform the following.

1. When removing the fixing assembly from the main unit:

Turn the main switch OFF.
Turn the door switch OFF (make sure to remove the door switch actuator).
2. When assembling or disassembling, be sure to unplug the unit from the outlet.
In addition, when lifting the fixing assembly, if the rear side connector is held and subsequently bent out of
shape, a pin contact fault is likely to cause error code E800 to be indicated. To prevent this, be absolutely
sure to note the following.

Factory measures
The following modification has been made to increase the tolerance of the unit to arc discharge when the
fixing assembly is removed without the AC line having been turned OFF.
1) Pin No. 1 of the fixing assembly cable and main unit side fixing assembly cable is divided into 2 pins
(use the previously unused pin No. 5) to reduce the load per pin.
2) The diameter of the lead wire of pin No. 4 of the main unit side fixing assembly cable has been increased
to increase the amount of current that can be run through the pin.

Measures for servicing
During routine servicing, check the fixing assembly and main unit side AC connector as described below. If
a contact fault is found, replace the connectors at both the fixing assembly and main unit side with the new
ones.
Fixing assembly AC connector: Check for any traces of a contact fault (melting, burning).
Main unit side AC connector: Check for pin shape deformation and any traces of a contact fault.
Notes for servicing
Service cables have numbers on the fastening section. When replacing the main unit side cable, refer to the
following table to prevent erouneous connection to the SSR.
