Usher Board
God was the very first Usher - as he ushered in day and light (Gen 1:3-4). God u
shered man into the Garden of Eden (Gen. 2:15). Ushers or forerunners are depict
ed throughout the Bible. Abraham ushered Faithfulness into the world (Gen. 22).
Moses ushered the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt and into the promi
se land (Ex. 12).
GBF Ushers
GBF Ushers are the ones who stand at the door of Gods house and cheerfully greet
, seat, and distribute pamphlets. GBF Ushers are ambassadors for the church, and
a key part in the Body of Christ. A GBF usher is the first official church repr
esentative seen when entering the Sanctuary. The role of an usher at GBF is a vo
lunteer position, and is considered one of great-honor. Ushers are forerunners,
for they prepare the church for the guests by ensuring the church is in proper c
ondition; GBF ushers are missionaries for the church for they perpetuate the spi
rit of a "Servants Heart" throughout the congregation; they serve the people of
God in his house while staying in ONE-LINE behind our Pastor.
Psalms 84:10 teaches us that an usher is a doorkeeper in the house of God. At Gr
ace Bible Fellowship of Antioch ushers have many responsibilities none of which
are more important than greeting and seating God's people with a Christ-like att
itude.
Ushers at Grace Bible Fellowship of Antioch firmly believe that there is no bett
er place to serve God, than in His house, serving His people, in His name.
The GBF Usher Board is a unique family-like, close nit, gender and age diverse m
inistry that is comprised of dedicated church members that like to have fun whil
e serving the lord in excellence.
