Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to help students understand that they can
encounter Christ today in a full and real way in and through the sacraments,
and especially through the Eucharist. Students will examine each of the
sacraments in detail so as to learn how they may encounter Christ
throughout life.1
Grades:
Homework, Papers and Projects 50%
Quizzes and Tests = 25%
Final Exam = 25%

Note: Students with a final grade of 97% or above for both semesters will
receive academic honors.
Late Work and Make-Up Policy:
Late work will be accepted up to the end of the grading phase for half credit,
or beyond that for 25% credit. All course work must be handed in. Students
with excused absences are responsible for arranging to make up missed
quizzes or tests as soon as they return to school; missed quizzes and tests
must be made up in the Testing Room (in A15 on Tuesday mornings and
Thursday afternoons) within two weeks. In addition to NetClassroom and
Haiku, class announcements, including homework due dates, quiz dates, and
test dates, will be posted to the class Twitter: @MrDelaneyNDP.
Attendance, Participation, and Classroom Conduct:
All students will be shown respect consistent with their dignity as
children of God. Students likewise will respect the dignity of others. In
the classroom this includes regular and punctual attendance of classes,
not speaking out of turn, attentiveness in lectures and participation in
group discussions and activities, and refraining from any disruptive or
unkind words or actions. Failure to comply with these standards of
behavior will result in removal from the classroom, detention, or any
other disciplinary action the teacher and administrators consider
appropriate. Any student caught plagiarizing or cheating will receive a
failing grade for the assignment, quiz, or test, per school policy.
Technology and Social Media Policy:
Laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices may be used in class only when
announced. At all other times they must be silenced and out of sight. Tablets
may not be used for taking notes. Social media sites will be used in
accordance with school policy.
