anuria, acute or

renal
insufficiency or
hyperkalemia.

Headache,
drowsiness,
confusion, diarrhea,
cramping, gastritis,
vomiting,
menstrual
disturbances,
dehydration, mild
acidosis, drug fever.

Use cautiously in
patients with fluid or
electrolyte imbalances
impaired renal or
hepatic function.

-Monitor electrolyte levels,


fluid intake and output, and
blood pressure.
-Inform laboratory unit that
patient is taking
spironolactone because
drug may interfere with
tests that measure digoxin
level.
