Primary instructor for Elons first-year writing course for students who also live on
campus in the nearby Historic Neighborhood. Developed students awareness of writing
practices, argumentation, and research methods by reading, analyzing, and writing
multimodal texts for both academic and non-academic audiences.
Graduate Teaching Assistant, University of Washington, Interdisciplinary Writing Program
Courses designed and taught:
Interdisciplinary Writing in the Social Sciences linked with Introduction to
Psychology (Spring 2015).
Primary instructor for 17-student interdisciplinary writing course for multilingual
students concurrently enrolled in Introduction to Psychology. Developed students
rhetorical awareness of disciplinary writing practices by examining academic and popular
texts in the field of psychology, writing in various academic genres, and facilitating
conversations across disciplinary, linguistic, and cultural incomes.

First-Year Composition for Multilingual Students (Winter 2011, Summer 2013,
Autumn 2013, Winter 2014).
Primary instructor for 18-student composition course for self-described multilingual
students, focusing on developing rhetorical strategies to read, analyze, and write across
genres and languages. Led students through critical discussions of rhetoric across

languages, including a case studies of linguistic choice in Disney films or global hip-hop
music.
First-Year Composition (Autumn 2010, Spring 2011).
Primary instructor for 22-student composition course that examined the power of
language in society. Developed students facility with analyzing and composing across
media through rhetorical analysis of multimodal texts, textual analysis of essays,
collaborative writing, and composing digital texts, including e-portfolios.

Writing Ready: Getting a Start on Writing in College (Autumn 2012, Autumn 2013,
