I am a professor at the University of Transports and Communications, Viet Nam. I am
writing to you in support of Ms xxxx, who is applying for the PhD. program in your
University.
I assert that Ms. XXX is an excellent student. I have known her for more than ten
years since she was an undergraduate student in Department of Electricity and Electronics at
Hanoi University of Transport and Communications (UTC).
I have strong impression with her aspiration in both of knowledge and behavior.
Compared with other students, she is salient, thanks to her ability to achieve good results in
the wide variety of area through seriously studying and working. As a third year student, she
was the best helpful assistant in my group with a lot of innovative ideals. My project
involved in building the circuits using micro-processors to measure the shakes of the train
road-bed in some areas in Vietnam. The project needed a lot of patient from the participants.
The researchers had to build the circuit, did experiments and analyzed data to make the more
accurate circuits. H was willing to take a new responsibility and followed tasks through to
completion. Actually, she tried her best to finish the mission with the great results that was
higher than my expectation. Her performance not only helped the project succeed but also
was an incentive to other members to work harder. She also created the harmonic working
environment in my lab thanks to her optimism and keeping calm under high pressure to finish
project in time. When the circuit did not work well she was the last person left the lab and the
first person who came in the next early morning.
Having observed her tireless working and studying in five year of Bachelor I was not
surprised when she accomplished Bachelor degree with highlight grade 10/10 for final thesis
and become an outstanding student in our department. After obtaining BSc degree, she was
recruited as a lecturer in Faculty of Electronic at Hanoi University of Industry. However, we
still keep contact to share new trends in research as well as pedagogic teaching. She
contributed tireless effort to build the models and make the clear guidance to students. I have
no doubt that she become an independent researcher and collect enough practical experience
for higher degree.
Again, I suggested her to apply for the PhD course in your university. I believe that
with her knowledge, experience, and her preparation, Ms. XXX will be successful in her
study and be a valuable asset of your program.

As a head of Education and Training Office - Hanoi University of ..), it is a pleasure to
recommend for Mrs. xxxxx who brought outstanding contribution to the work of my
university as a promise candidate to xx Universiteit XXX Ph.D. program.
Ms Vu was recruited by Hanoi University of Industry and then was appointed as a lecturer of
Electronics Faculty from 15 December, 2002. Considering the quality of her responsible
courses, she had the impressive feedback from our students for her profound knowledge as
well as genuine enthusiasm. Her effort in contribution for teaching and training in my
university is undeniable. In 2008, she was one of the authors of the text
bookMicrocontroller Architecture, programming and applications published by the
Vietnam Education Publisher. This book was qualified as a high quality book. Many
universities and colleges used this book as an official reference.
She also took part in projects to produce practical boards for students to enhance the teaching
quality in my university annually. As a leader of the Building practical board for
Microcontroller-based systems group in those projects, XXX , a creative problem-solver,
was willing to go beyond what was required. Every year, we rebuild the models for the
teaching purposes of the following year. XXX was very patient to collect all the
disadvantages of the models during her teaching time and then tried to make the
improvements for the next models. I highly evaluated her responsibly, punctual and hard
working.
Besides accomplishing her assigned job Mrs. XXX has also been active in studying to
improve professional knowledge. Being a colleague of Mrs. XXX , I find her to be hard
working and responsible one. She is very self-confidence and high ability of self-train which
are approved by her organization skills and very good team-work with other colleagues.
Once, I witnessed the pleasant and energetic working environment she created in her group;
therefore, I was glad but not surprised with the great result of the groups work. She
extremely had outstanding leadership abilities.
I think such an outstanding person like Mrs. XXX completely deserved a financial support
from Vietnam Government Scholarship to study in Vrije Universiteit XXXX. I strongly
believe that she will get success in her graduate study. After she comes back to Vietnam, the
Hanoi University of Industry will assign her suitably so that she could best utilize her
knowledge acquired in the course to improve the quality of teaching and training in my
