Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination

The following instructions will assist you in completing your application for the Fundamentals of
Engineering (FE) examination. Proper attention to details will help avoid delays in processing and
will expedite final review of your application. Failure to completely and properly fill out the
application form will cause delays and may result in the inability to qualify you for the FE
examination.
Through a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Council of Examiners for
Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) and AUS, eligible candidates will complete and file their
applications and any AUS application-related fees with AUS. AUS will provide assistance to
candidates as needed to complete the applications and prequalify applicants.
Who Is Eligible to Apply
FE examination candidates will be limited to those who:

have attained senior status from an EAC/ABET program in engineering or

are graduates from an EAC/ABET program in engineering or
have obtained an evaluation of their education through the NCEES Credentials
Evaluation Service that has been deemed by NCEES to meet the minimum
requirements of the NCEES Engineering Education Standard.

Steps to Apply
First, applicants must create a profile on the NCEES website (https://account.ncees.org/) and pay
the US$250 fee to NCEES. The fee covers registration, administration of the exam, scoring of the
exam, and distribution of the results and related materials.
Second, the applicant must complete the following application form and submit it to the AUS
Testing and Professional Development Center. The applicant must at this time pay the required
AUS fee (AED 250 for AUS students; AED 1,000 for all others) to the AUS Cashier.
Lastly, once a candidate has been approved by AUS and NCEES, the candidate will receive an
email notification. At this time, the approved candidate must register for the test date at
https://account.ncees.org/. Qualified applicants must complete the online registration process in
order to take the examination. Approximately two weeks prior to the exam date, applicants who
have registered through the NCEES website will be able to log in to the website and print a copy
of their NCEES appointment confirmation letter to gain entrance to the exam site.

Exam Results
FE exam results are typically available 710 days after you take the exam. You will receive an
email notification from NCEES with instructions to view your results in your MyNCEES account.
