National Savings Institute, Govt. of India, Regional Centre, Nagpur in collaboration with the Department of Post, L.I.C , RBI
and other financial institutions including Nationalized Banks observed a grand function on the occasion of World Thrift Day in
the Office of the Director, National Savings Institute (HQ), Nagpur on 30th October 2015.

National Savings Institute celebrated WORLD THRIFT DAY


World Thrift Day is being celebrated by National Savings Institute every year on 30th October 2015 across its various
Regional Centres. The objective of celebration of World Thrift Day is to spread the message of savings and to
inculcate the habit of thrift among the masses. On the occasion, messages were received from His Excellency The
President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, Honble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, Union Finance
Minister, Shri Arun Jaitley and Minister of State for Finance Shri Jayant Sinha.

Half Yearly Review Meeting

The Half- yearly Review Meeting of Regional Directors was held during 20-21 November, 2015 at NSI
Head quarters under the Chairmanship of Shri A.K.Chauhan, Joint Director and Head of Deptt.
Shri Deepak Verma, Joint Director, Delhi and Regional Directors of all Regional Offices of NSI were
present during the meeting.

During the meeting presentations were given by Regional Directors.

PAY ROLL SAVINGS DAY


National Savings Institute (Headquarter), Nagpur and its 10 Regional Centres
celebrated Pay Roll Savings Day in the month of July 2015 throughout the country.
Pay Roll Savings Scheme is exclusively designed to meet the requirement of the
salaried class across the country, who wish to save regularly. The objective of the
Pay Roll Savings Scheme is to facilitate the process of savings both at the physical
as well as psychological level, as this scheme spares the salary earners the physical
effort involved in going to Post Offices/Bank for making transactions as the amount
deducted from salary of the employees and deposited in desired schemes in Post
Office. This is a unique savings scheme of the Ministry of Finance. This event was
covered by the Print and Electronic media to create awareness among salaried
persons.
