3. Align the ADF hinge holes to the two shoulder

screws installed in the main body, and push the
ADF in the direction of the arrow to install. (The
main body is deep, so install the ADF from the
rear side.)

II. Installation procedures

1. Remove the hinge covers (2 places) of the main
body (2 screws).

4. Connect the ADF connector to the connector on

the back of the main body.

2. Install shoulder screws on the side of the hinge

holes of the main body (2 screws).

2. 70 degrees
Loosen the two screws of the 90/70 degree
adjustment plate.
Slide up the ADF to the maximum extent of the
screw holes, and secure it with two screws.

5. Fix the left hinge, then fix the right hinge with a
screw. (SEMS II screw M4x8: 1 pc. each)

6. Remove the locking tape and locking material

from the ADF.
3. 40 degrees
Remove the attached 90/70 degree angle adjustment plate, and screw the 40 degree angle
adjustment plate and the plate spring together (2
places).

III. ADF angle change

The opening angle of the ADF can be set at 70 or 40
degrees. Set the angle according to the customers
request. (90 degrees is the default setting)
Note:
The plate spring will deform if the ADF is opened
and closed while the adjustment plate screws are
loose, so make sure that the screws are tightly
secured.

IV. Adjustment
Scanner (RADF) centering adjustment
Conduct centering adjustment on both sides.
[Preparation]
Printer centering adjustment must be completed
before performing this adjustment.
Step

Operation

1. Set to 36 mode.
2. [36 mode menu]
Press the Image adjustment key.
3. [Image adjustment menu]
Press the Centering adjustment key.
4. [Centering adjustment menu]
Press the RADF centering adjustment key.
5. [RADF centering adjustment menu]
Press the COPY SCREEN key.
6. Select A3 or 11x17 paper, set chart to RADF,
and press the [START] button.
7. Fold the A3 or 11x17 paper in half down the
short side to check if the left and right lines
match perfectly.
Standard value: 1mm
8. If the offset is not within specification, press
the [C] button while press the [P] button.
9. [RADF centering adjustment menu]
Input the numerical values using the numeric
keypads and press SET key.
Setting range: -30 to +30
1 Step = 0.1mm
10. Repeat steps 5 to 9 until the offset is within
specification.
11. Press the NEXT ADJUSTMENT key to
select the back, and conduct RADF centering adjustment for the back surface.
12. [RADF centering adjustment menu]
Press the COPY SCREEN key.
13. Select A3 or 11x17 paper, set chart to RADF,
and press the [START] button.
14. Fold the A3 or 11x17 paper in half down the
short side to check if the left and right lines
match perfectly.
Standard value: 1mm
15. If the offset is not within specification, press
the [C] button while press the [P] button.
16. [RADF centering adjustment menu]
Input the numerical values using the numeric
keypads and press SET key.
Setting range: -30 to +30
1 Step = 0.1mm
17. Repeat steps 12 to 16 until the offset is
within specification.
