What is amazing about this northern mix is that I bought it a year ago and planted it this spring on a newly
excavated flat of rocky clay soil. I threw on some lime and scratched in the seed and crossed my fingers to
see how it would take. Wow, what a productive food plot!!!! I cant believe how well it took especially with a dry
summer. Donald S. (Wellsboro, PA)

General Food Plot Planting Instructions

Step 1. Fertilize and lime as needed. You wont believe the difference fertilizing and liming
will make in both the attraction and production of your food plot. If the pH is lower than 5.8
(which it probably is if pines grow in the area) lime will greatly help. You can fertilize almost
anything and make it more attractive to deer, but if you fertilize a desirable food plot, the
difference can be astounding.
Step 2. Control competing weeds and grass. Weeds greatly reduce yield,
utilization and the life expectancy of perennial plots. Thorough disking before planting and/
or the use of roundup will do wonders. One application will kill most weeds and grasses.
Make a full coverage application being sure to thoroughly wet plant surfaces. For areas
where renovation and reseeding is desired, make a thorough coverage. Treated area
should begin to turn brown within 7 days, than reseed as desired.
Step 3. Prepare your seedbed well. Make sure it is thoroughly disked, clean, and level.
Good seed-to-soil contact when planting is imperative. The quality of your food plot will
reflect the quality of your farming effort. Think of the seedbed as the foundation on which
youre building your food plot house.
Step 4. Choose the right seed for your soils, climate and purpose. Decide what you want
your plot to accomplish and pick just the right thing for your job. Your food plot will be no
better than what you put in the ground.
Step 5. Time your planting for optimum success. You need to plant when the
temperature and moisture are right for your crop. Planting too late or too early can cost
production and maybe even the crop.
Step 6. Plant at the right depth. Big seeds like cereal grains can be planted an inch or
more deep. Small seeds like clovers and chicory, cant push through much soil and must
be planted a half an inch deep or less.
Step 7. Plant sufficient acreage for the deer you are feeding. If getting nutrition to the
deer is the goal, youve got to have good production and plenty of acreage. If your plot is
mowed down to the ground and looks like a golf course, you probably dont have enough
acreage in plots. You need visible standing crop to feed deer. Generally that will take
about 1 acre of plot for every 3 deer feeding on it.

The pic of him alive is when he was in the
clover blend plot a week earlier. When we
bought the property there were no plots on it
at all, we are now at six and working on the
seventh totaling about eight acres. The number of deer, turkey, and bear frequenting the
property has skyrocketed!
Chris B. (Colfax, WI)

I hunt a small 5 acre lot surrounded by mature

hard woods and agricultural fields. I needed something to draw the deer onto and through my property. I have planted your pasture mix for the last 2
years and have not been disappointed. They have
now worn numerous trails through my postage
stamp to catch a quick (and apparently delicious)
bite while passing through. I have actually created
a nice staging area putting myself in a successful
situation to harvest one or more deer each season.
Shawn S. (Newton, IL)
Here is a food plot using your Pasture
Mix. It was planted on June 10, 2011.
This is day 37 of the planting. It was
hand seeded on the edge of a corn field
next to a bedding area. I get high quality
food plots
consistently year after year using your
seed. Thanks for the great
product.

I have used Monsterbuck plot seed last
3 years with great results. Increased
herd staying on property along with
bigger, better bucks. Even with a late
planted plot results were awesome. One
evening of rut and one of my small plots
brought 33 deer (17 bucks) not to mention one of several shooters Ive been
looking for. This 15 point bruiser was the
last to step in the plot, for the last time.
Your turnips are the best I have planted.
Ohio deer love it (its like deer candy).
Brian S. (Plain City, OH)

Well we had plenty of opportunities.

Saw deer almost everyday, took three
bucks and no does. Heres a picture of
me and my friend with the biggest deer
of the season to date, still a little bow
season left. It is his biggest to date and
I couldnt be prouder that it came off
our land. Thanks for a great product.
Scott Z. (Lakemoor, IL)

Ive been doing this for 3 years now and

I never had so many deer and some are
monsters. Last winter you can see the
deer eating turnips with his head in the
snow. By spring there wasn't one turnip
left!
