1. Resolver:
i) Para una cuerda infinita (i.e. No hay que preocuparse por
las condiciones de frontera), qu condiciones iniciales daran
lugar a una onda que se mueve slo hacia adelante? Exprese
su respuesta en trminos del desplazamiento inicial u(x , 0)=f (x )
y velocidad inicial ut ( x , 0)=g( x ) y sus derivadas f ' (x), g ( x) .
Interpretar el resultado intuitivamente.
Introduccin:
El estudio en EDP de una cuerda infinita, es objetivo de resolucin a
travs de un problema de Cauchy, y solucionarlo por el mtodo de
DAlembert.
La frmula de D'Alembert es la solucin general de la ecuacin de
onda, una ecuacin en derivadas parciales hiperblica, en un espacio
de una dimensin.
Entonces, cuando tenemos una cuerda infinita sin frontera, tenemos la
siguiente ecuacin:
utt =c 2 u xx
para: 0< x< Lt >0
c2 2 u ( x ,t )=0
2
t
x
Y el factor:
)(
c2 2 = c
2
t
x
t
x
)( t +c x )
( t +c x ) u ( x , t )
v ( x , t )=
( t c x ) v ( x , t ) =0
Donde su solucin es:
v ( x , t )=F ( xct )
Entonces:
( t + c x ) u ( x , t )=F ( xct )
Donde:
( t + c x )=u + c u
t
Reemplazando en la ecuacin ut + c u x :
ut + c u x =U w wt +U z z t + c ( U w w x +U z z x )
Ahora:
ut + c u x =2 c U z
1
F ( z ) dz +G ( w )
2c
H ( z ) +G ( w )
Y la velocidad:
( x )c G
(x)
g ( x ) =ut ( x , 0 ) =c H
Y:
( x )c G
( x )=c ( H
( x ) G

Integrando:

Entonces:

Al derivar respecto a
( [

Tenemos que:

2 dx
Ordenando:
df
=g ( x )
dx

f ( x )+ g ( s ) ds+ H ( 0 )G ( 0 )

Entonces:
H ( x )=

( )
Ahora:
H ( x )=
1
[ f ( x ) +( f ( x ) + f ( 0 ) ) + H ( 0 )G ( 0 ) ]

Por tal:
H ( x )=
1
[ f ( 0 ) + H ( 0 )G ( 0 ) ]
2
1
[ f ( 0 ) + H ( 0 )G ( 0 ) ]= 12 ( 0 )=0

Por lo que:
H ( x )=0
Ahora, sustituyendo:
df
=g ( x )
dx
En:
1
G ( x )= f ( x ) g ( s ) dsH ( 0 )+G ( 0 )

Entonces:
G ( x )=

( )
Queda:
G ( x )=
1
[ f ( x ) (f ( x )+ f ( 0 ) ) H ( 0 )+ G ( 0 ) ]
2
Entonces:
G ( x )=
1
[ 2 f ( x )f ( 0 )H ( 0 ) +G ( 0 ) ]
2

[ 2 f ( x ) ]=f ( x )

Entonces, anlogamente:
u ( x , t )=f ( xt )
df
dx
g( x)

u ( x , t )= [ f ( x+ t ) + f ( x t ) ] + g ( s ) ds

Ahora:
x+ t>a xt >a
x+t>1 xt>1
x+t

Entonces:

u ( x , t )= g ( s ) ds= ( 11 ) =0

Pero, para:
xt<a x +t >a
Tenemos que:

y entonces:
x+t
u ( x , t )=
1
[ f ( x+ t ) + f ( x t ) ] + 12 g ( s ) ds
2

Sustituyendo:
f ( x t )=0
Tenemos que:

u ( x , t )= ( 0+0 ) + ( K a )
