General Sampling Bibliography

Statistical sampling and its many related topics is a very broad area for study in statistics. It is
used in the environmental sciences, epidemiology and medicine, the social sciences, ecological
sciences, business and finance, and marketing, just to name a few general areas. It is difficult to
select a text book that can address particular applications and design problems that are unique or
specific to one or some application areas, without neglecting important information necessary in
other areas. Therefore, I have selected a basic and general textbook on sampling that will intro-
duce many of the important concepts of sampling without being specific to a particular discipline.
To learn more about sampling and its applications in specific disciplines you might consider some
of the references below. This list is not intended to be an exhaustive list, so you should conduct a
thorough reference search as appropriate to your own needs.
