Risks involved when eating out

The world has changed a lot nowadays, so now we have to be very careful when we are buying
food, especially when we are eating at a restaurant or a fast-food. At a fast-food, even the ones
that are a big brand, like McDonalds or KFC, the ingredients are going through a lot of stages so
that they can be and look fresh and tasty. That doesnt mean they are good for your health. In
those ingredients(meat,vegetables,sauces etc.) they put many chemicals that can produce cancer
or other deaseses if they are consumed often. Even the logos and colours of those fast-foods can
make you be hungry. McDonalds, KFC, Subway and many more have theyre logos red or
yellow, colours that researchers say it can make your brain think you are hungry.
In restaurants, supermarkets and fast foods were so many situations where qualified people went
to see in what stage are the products. They sometimes found expired food or food full of insects,
maggots or even mice or rats. There were situations where in some bread factories inspectors
found out that employees that dropped the dough on the floor didnt threw it away, but instead
put it back in the machine. Another example based on the bread factories is that some inspectors
found out that a machine named masticator broke down because of a rat that was inside it.
It is very risky to eat in restaurants because the food is not washed enough. A good example is
how the salad is washed and prepared. The cooks may not wash every leaf from that salad and
he can serve you the salad with dirt, mud, worms or even slugs. Those leafs can be full with
bacteria or microorganisms that can affect your health. Another example is the fact that you
should not order food that contain mushrooms because you can not know the provenience of
those mushrooms. They can be poisonous mushrooms and can even kill you. The eggs that you
consume at a restaurant or buy from a supermarket can be expired or rotten and it can cause you
food poisoning. From expired meat, especially pork or chicken, you can catch some contagious
diseases like Salmonella, Trichinosis. Trichinosis is a disease caused by larvae or immature
worms of Trichinella Spiralis. Salmonella is a disease caused by a rod-shaped, gram-negative
bacteria of the Enterobacteriaceae family.
A major risk that affects half of the population from this century is that they eat too much fast
food and a big quantity of this kind of food can produce diabetes or obesity. Fast food products
have a lot of chemicals that are malignant and can cause you a lot of diseases, especially cancer.
Even the fruits and vegetables are now full of chemicals that can affect your health. The lands
are nowadays splashed with water that contains chemicals that helps the fruits and vegetables to
grow faster and have a better aspect. That doesnt mean they are better than those that grow in
your own garden, where you know exactly how to take care of them.
In my opinion, a very risky place where you can eat is a buffet. The food served there is sitting
close one to another and there can be a high risk of contamination. Places where you can eat
without taking any risks are those restaurants where you pay a pretty big amount of money, but
you know that the owner of that restaurant doesnt afford the risk of serving bad food. The chefs

and staff of that kind of restaurant are specially trained to give you the best food and the best
conditions so that you will eat a good and healthy food.
Unfortunately, most people choose to go at a fast food when eating out than a restaurant. Thats
especially because of the price. Fast food is cheaper than a restaurant, but also, in most of the
cases unhealthier, too. Fast food isnt necessarily bad, but in many cases its highly processed
and contains large amounts of carbohydrates, added sugar, unhealthy fats, and salt (sodium).
These products are often high in calories yet offer little or no nutritional value. When fast food
frequently replaces nutritious foods in your diet, it can lead to poor nutrition, poor health, and
weight gain. Being overweight is a risk factor for a variety of chronic health problems including
heart disease, diabetes, and stroke. So, in most of the cases fast food leads to digestives and
cardiovascular diseases.
As a conclusion, the best decision is to produce your own food and eat healthy. You can grow
fruits and vegetables and have some animals that can provide you enough food for you and you
family. You know exactly what that food contains and you wont have health problems. If you
want to eat somewhere, avoid as much as possible fast foods or cheap restaurants. You can go to
a restaurant that looks nice and fancy. You will pay some extra money, but at least you know you
will eat something tasty and good for your body.
