PUERTO PRINCESA SUBTERRANEAN RIVER NATIONAL PARK (NEW WONDER OF


THE WORLD)
The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is a protected area of
the Philippines located about 80 kilometres (50 mi) north of the city centre of Puerto
Princesa, Palawan. The river is also called Puerto Princesa Underground River. The
national park is located in the Saint Paul Mountain Range on the western coast of the
island.

SINGAPORE
MERLION PARK
When youre in the vicinity of the Merlion Park and One Fullerton, its hard to miss out on
the iconic symbol, regarded as the pride of Singapore. The large Merlion statue, standing at
a height of 28 feet has a lions head and a fishs body and represents the citys humble

Sydney Opera House is not only Australia's most famous landmark, this unique structure is

Wales Premier announced an international competition to design an opera house for
Sydney. After attracting over 200 entries, Jrn Utzon, had his extraordinary design declared
the winner on January 29, 1957. Work began on a erecting the pre-caste shell ribs in 1964
and the Sydney Opera House was opened by Queen Elizabeth II on October 20, 1973.

The Forbidden City the Largest Imperial Palace in the World
The Forbidden City (or the Palace Museum) is one of the must-visit attractions for travelers
to China. It used to be an imperial palace in the Ming (13681644) and Qing (16441911)
dynasties. It has housed 24 emperors. Today, the palace is a large museum, housing

thousands of historical relics.

GREAT PYRAMIDS OF GIZA
The Pyramid of Khufu at Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid ever built. These pyramids
are included as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The three are named the great
pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), the pyramid of Khafre (Khafra) and the pyramid of Menkaure.
The pyramid of Menkaure has three smaller pyramids that are right next to this main
structure and are called the Queens Pyramids.

PETRONAS TWIN TOWERS
The Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is among the top 10 tallest buildings
in the world. At 451.9 meters (1,482.6 feet), the Petronas Twin Towers was considered the
tallest building from 1998 to 2004 when measured from the base to the antenna, or spire.

FRANCE
EIFFEL TOWER
The Eiffel Tower is one of the most famous icons in the world and is located on the banks of
the Seine River in Paris, France. This prominent structure is made out of iron and is built on
Champ de Mars. The tower got its name from the engineer who built it and it is the tallest
building in the entire city.

ROME
THE COLOSSEUM
The Colosseum, originally the Flavian Amphitheater, was built and modified in the time of
the Flavian dynasty ( Vespasian and his two sons Titus and Domitian) which ruled the
Roman Empire between AD 69 and AD 96. The amphitheater is located a few steps from
the former center of ancient Rome, the Roman Forum, which was for centuries the core of
Roman public life.

COLOMBIA (SOUTH AMERICA)


SALT CATHEDRAL
The Salt Cathedral of Zipaquir is an underground Roman Catholic church built within the
tunnels of a salt mine 200 meters underground in a Halite mountain near the town of
Zipaquir, in Cundinamarca, Colombia.

NIAGARA FALLS
The Niagara Falls are situated on the Niagara River which lies on the border of the province
of Ontario and the state of New York. The Horseshoe Falls are located on the Canadian side
of the border. The Niagara Falls are the most powerful waterfall in North America with an

average of 4 million cubic feet of water falling over the crest line every minute.

One of the most recognized and controversial landmarks in the United States, Mt.
Rushmore features the faces of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and
Lincoln.

KIMBERLEY DIAMOND MINES
Kimberley Diamond Mines is also known as the Big Hole. This is the largest diamond mine
in the world. Kimberley is the capital city of Northern Cape in South Africa, which can be

found near the convergence of Vaal and Orange Rivers. The town made its way into history
books not only because of its past with regards to diamond mining but also a siege at the
time of the Second Boer War.

ITALY
LEANING TOWER OF PISA
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a free standing bell tower of the cathedral of Pisa in Italy. The
Tower is located behind the cathedral and is said to be the third oldest structure in Pisa.
The tower was made to stand straight, however immediately after it was constructed, it
started leaning towards the south east. This was due to a poorly laid foundation and a
substrate that allows the foundation to favor one direction.

JAPAN
HEIAN SHRINE GARDEN
The Heian Shrine Garden consists of four sub-gardens surrounding the main shrine. The

gardens are built following the four major directions of south, west, middle, and east.
Totaling to a close approximate of 33,000 square meters of land, these gardens constructed
in the stroll-style design were originally designated as a national scenic place that
represents the design of the gardens of the Meiji-era.
