Course Description
The course aims deal with the nature, scope and basic concepts and theoretical foundations of society & culture,
particularly in the Philippine setting. Likewise, this course will introduce the students to basic concepts of family planning,
HIV/AIDS education, and drug education.

1. Classroom Behavior
Each student should attend class with all class materials including their textbook and homework. Each student will be expected to abide by all school
rules and regulations as outlined in the student handbook. In addition, each student should show courtesy, respect and consideration to their peers
and the instructor. No food, drink, or gum permitted, and no personal or group grooming is permitted. Each student is expected to put forth their best
effort in all class activities, to maintain the highest level of integrity and honesty in their work, and to ask for help when needed.
2. Homework, Project and Class Work
No late work is accepted. Students will have a syllabus that they keep through each unit so that they can easily find out what the assignments are
each day. In addition, assignments will be written on the board, posted on the wall, and students will be required to record the homework of the day in
their Logbook. This logbook is to be taken home every evening to help the student keep organized and help the parent/guardian to keep up with their
childs class work. Homework is assigned every day the student has Algebra.
3. Unit Test and Major Exams
At the end of each unit/topic, an exam will be given which will test students knowledge of the subject matter that was covered. Students are required
to show up on time and ready the day of a test. If a student has an excused absence the day of a test they must contact me immediately to set up a
time for a retake. They will have until the next meeting time make up the test before their grade begin to drop. Quizzes will be given in class and will

occur approximately halfway through each unit. Students must be in class to take quizzes. If a student plans to be absent for any reason, they must
discuss it with me prior to absence in order to make up any quizzes.
