3. Title of the Project: Immunity based antivirus
Area : Data Security
Relevance to the areaof the contest (Explain) : The above mentioned project is based on Data security which comes under
Computer Science and IT which is one of the project areas mentioned in the contest.
Type of Project :Concepts
Objective of your project : To provide security to the PC without overspending for Virus updation and ne Anti-virus product
Brief description :
Current scenario is to define the virus definitions and prevent the attack .The problem in this type of approach is
that if there is any misconceptions about the definitions then the virus will spread easily and it cannot be identified.
Moreover not all the antivirus provide remedies for all the virus and attacks they only provide solution to the known virus
definition, So different prevention mechanism is needed for different attacks. Sometimes even the vendor create the virus
for their own benefits. The main objective of the project is to provide an better way of immunity to the system without
overspending.
Unique features of the project:
Auto generation of virus definition
Low cost compared to other Attack prevention mechanism
Dynamic attack prevention mechanism

Less maintenance and updation towards new attack without new attack definition.

Deliverables from the project:

Auto Updatable attack prevention mechanism
Prevents most of the attacks(known and Unknown) without new definition
Existing Approaches:
Provides attack prevention only to known definition
Constant update is required
Different product is required for different attacks
What is new in the project:
Dynamic security mechanism
Auto generation of virus definition.
How is this proposal different from existing approachesbased on :
Originally : This auto generation of virus definition is a Novelty feature which is absent in existing approaches
Performance: This improves the performance of the system by mostly avoiding internet for updation and other
features.
Costs/ benefits: This reduces the cost of maintenance of the system and updation cost for virus definition. It also
avoids the need for multiple product for different virus attacks.
References (literature) :
Approach to solving the problem:
(Implementation details)
Modelling : Attack simulation model , Honeypot model , Testing model, Implementation model
Construction / experiments / programming: Tools required for generating attacks, Programming languages
such as C, Java used for coding
Testing : Testing is done based on random attacks generated as well as known attacks
Results: By the end of the testing the product will be able to provide the attack prevention mechanism better than
the existing ones.
System integration issues :This may arise while testing the product in different environment.
Support infrastructure: NIL
Required
Likely problems that may: Coding may vary based on the different architecture and Operating system.
be encountered
Reasons why this proposal shouldbe considered for selection:This project provide a solution for a cost benefit
mechanism and this concept can be carried on to solutions to many problems and since this is an ongoing current
research if implemented it benefits many solutions.
Budget estimates: 10000

(Should not include equipments, instruments, travel, software packages, books, etc.,that are normally available in the college)
