Re: Application for market researcher job

I am writing to apply for the job of market researcher, as advertised in Jobsnews on 5 January. I have
a bachelors degree in business studies and I have worked in an advertising agency for two years. I
speak Spanish as my first language and I am proficient in French and English.
I would like to have the job of market researcher because it is the most important job in any business.
If we make products and services but we dont understand who will buy them, our work is useless. I
enjoy meeting people and I am a good listener, too. This is the perfect combination for talking with
customers in the marketplace and learning about their likes and dislikes.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,

Dear (name),
Here is the financial information you requested. In the first part of last year, turnover was level at
2m. In April, it increased rapidly to 4m, then dropped to 1m in June. It remained level until
September, then began to rise steadily to 2m in December.
Best wishes,

Dear Mr Jenkins,
Re: Overdue payment
I am writing with regard to invoice number 01886212, which is overdue for payment.
Your order was for 100 five-litre tins of magnolia wall paint, which were delivered to you from our
warehouse two days after you placed your order, as agreed.
Ms Speers, who is the finance manager here at ColourColour, would like to remind you that our
payment terms are 30 days. This means that the full balance of 1,825 was due by 15 July.
If you fail to make full payment within seven days, we will have no alternative but to take further
action.
Please contact either Ms Speers or myself in the finance department on 02144 8449122 if you would
like to discuss the situation in more detail.
Yours sincerely,

Subject: A-988 LED bulbs
Dear Ms Ong
Id like to place an order for 5,000 of the above. We need to have these bulbs in our warehouse by 27
March, so please send these via air freight. As usual, well pay the air freighting costs. Our last order
from you was several days late. If you dont deliver on time, we wont order from you again.
If you give us a 10% discount, well place a firm order of 5,000 units. Will you give us a 15%
discount if we double our order to 10,000? The additional 5,000 bulbs can be sent by sea freight as
included in your price. If possible, please give us an answer tomorrow. We are considering finding
another supplier.
Yours sincerely

Dear Ethic-on
Ethical training case study
I am writing with regard to your request for information about the above. I work with Dearborne DIY,
a small chain of hardware stores based in and around Bristol. Since your training last year, we have
seen some very positive developments in our business ethics.
Firstly, the company has improved its environmental record. We now have a special area in each shop
that features local, recycled and low-carbon products.
Secondly, we have increased our investment in our employees. After your review, we have developed
our training programme and found ways to make our employee benefits better.
Finally, we continue to offer flexible working arrangements for staff and to hire staff who come from
all parts of society.
I hope this information is useful. If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to contact me.
Yours faithfully
